• Kaye POV •

"I need to see him." I said. "You have to rest." Cameron said. "He's in a fucking coma because of me, I'm not going to rest Cameron!" I shouted.

"I'm sorry." He said. "no, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have yelled." I said. "Go see him." He said.

I noticed I was in this hospital dress and Cameron let out a chuckle.

I glared and he tossed me a pair of leggings and a sweater. "Thank you." I said.

Everyone left and I changed. When I was done, I walked to Hayes' room.

My heart broke when I saw how broken he looked. My eyes started to water, as I sat beside him.

"I'm so sorry." My voice cracked at the end.

"Kaye, maybe you should rest." I heard. I turned around to see Matthew. I got mad, really fast.

"What are you doing here." I gritted through my teeth. "I heard there was a fire, so I came down. I was worried about you Kaye." He said.

"Matthew, just leave me the fuck alone." I snapped. "Kaye, I didn't me-" I cut him off.

"I said get out!" I yelled. "I'm not leaving, not until we talk." He said. I stood up and pushed him out.

"Leave." I said. "Just go Matthew." Madison sighed. "I love you Kaye.." He said. "You don't fucking love me, leave right now." I said.

He turned around and left.

I sat down in the waiting room chair and stared at the blank white wall.

"Do you want to go eat?" Cameron asked me. I shook my head, "I'm not hungry." I said.

He nodded and sat beside me.

"He's going to wake up soon." He said. "And if he doesn't?" I asked, looking up at him. "I can't live with the guilt Cameron." I said.

"You won't have to. I promise." He said. "Don't make a promise you can't keep." I said. "Kalyn, he's going to wake up. You have to be hopeful." He said.

I nodded and the parents came back.

"How is he doing?" Mom asked Cameron. "Better, they're going to see if they can tell when he's going to wake up." Cameron said.

Hearing that made me feel a little better.

"I'm gonna go talk to the kid." Dad said.

• Hayes POV •

It hurt seeing Kaye in so much pain.

I was mad when Matthew showed up, he needs to stop.

"Hey Hayes." I heard madison. I could hear her, but I couldn't see her. I know I'm in a coma, I've heard them say it multiple times.

I've tried to wake up several times, but something is stoping me.

"We need you Hayes." She said. I would speak, but I know she can't hear me.

"Can I have a minute with him madison?" I heard Kaye's dad. "Yeah." Madison said. I heard her leave and Kaye's dad spoke up.

I felt him sit beside me.

"That was a brave thing you did Hayes, going in that building to save my little girl was and always will be the greatest thing anyone has ever done for her." He started to say.

"I need you to do one more thing for her ... for all of us actually. I need you to wake up. You have a whole life ahead of you Hayes." He said.

I wanted to wake up, I did. I don't know how to, I've tried opening my eyes and it doesn't work.

"I need you to be there when Kaye gets back with that Matthew kid, I know it'll happen again. I don't trust him anymore Hayes." He said.

I tried to speak, but I couldn't. I tried to move and I couldn't, I can't do anything.

"Wake up soon." He said.
