Time Heals Most Wounds

Leeroy's POV

               It's just about the start of the new school year and things have been pretty crazy. I mean crazy besides everything that happened with Niall and everything. Especially with the Monster CRAP squad....

   Flashback

       We are sitting in the court room to hear what is decided what's going to happen to the group of guys who physically assaulted Niall first. We are all fairly nervous and we hear Niall tell the story of what happened up until the point that he passed out due to the excruciating amount of pain that he was in. It was horrible really to hear everything that he went through. Especially when he was cross examined. Hearing in detail everything that happened to Niall was hard to hear from his perspective. I felt the tears in my eyes and going down my cheeks as Niall spoke out about everything, not just the pain of this last attack but also about the rape that lead him to attempt to commit suicide in the first place as well as all the verbal abuse. He was getting choked up while testifying. The cross examination was even worse because the angle they were going at was saying that Niall wanted them to have sex with him and that he was asking for it. 

       The other boys took the stand and it was obvious they hadn't rehearsed their stories because they were all over the place. Only one of the boys, James, came clean about it and ended up getting a reduced sentence, at least for the rape part. All the boys are going to prison for a long time not to mention the CRAP squad is also going to second degree assault. It was a horrible day and I was glad when I could take my boyfriend's hand as we walked out of the court house. 

        When it was my turn to take the stand I remember telling the people about finding Niall's unconscious body in an alley that was concealed by a dumpster that had been moved. I also shared about how Niall had failed to report for school that day and how severe his injuries were. There were also photographic evidence of the alley and even of what Niall looked like while in the alley. Given the fact that he was also in a coma for about 6 months didn't help the defendants. In the end everyone there got 6 years of jail time. Adult jail time not juvenile detention. The entire time I was on the stand I was truly having to hold back my tears.

Flashback ends

          I'm looking around at the school campus again. School doesn't start for another two weeks but all the sports have already started practice or in my case dance. I see Niall up ahead bouncing around Lou all in his soccer getup. He looks hot and I am not ashamed to admit that I just checked him out. I know that Niall is faking being happy though. He's gone though so much that its not easy for him to be the bubbly person he was last year.  I also see Liam over there as well. He really has changed. That reminds me of the conversation I had with Niall about maybe soon having Liam join in on our relationship and the response was a good one. I think soon we will be three instead of two. I do miss my brother and the way our relationship was but I would never even dream of cheating. I know what its like twice now. One from Zayn and one from Liam. I am sure that things will be different now though. At least I hope so. The saying that time heals all wounds is not true. It should be time heals most wounds.
