As time went on, Christmas drew nearer. By now, you hadn't seen Merida in a long time. In class, she would sit with Mulan and Pocahontas, very rarely would she come and talk to you. Rapunzel seemed happier though, she was always seen walking down the corridors and laughing with Flynn. Jack was the same with Elsa, every so often though he'd be seen holding her close when she received letters from her sister. You had been with a Hiccup a lot lately, considering how busy everyone else had been. Sometimes, it would be just you two left at the library.

Now that the Christmas holidays was starting, some of your friends were going home to their families. Rapunzel, Merida and Hiccup were going home for Christmas. The rest of you were staying at Hogwarts.

Just before they left, hiccup had come to see you. He'd asked you to meet him outside, by hagrids hut.

You walked through the snow, as your breath made little ghosts. The snow was hard to walk through but still, you trudged towards where hiccup was waiting.

Eventually you saw him, the snow was falling in his hair but he didn't notice. He wasnt wearing many layers, only a little fur jacket. As soon as he saw you, his eyes lit up.

"Y/N!" He called.

"Hi hiccup" you answered back. You walked closer until you were standing in front of him. "aren't you cold?"

"Nope" he said with a small smile. "this is nothing compared to winter at home"

"Remind me to never go to your home" you joked.

Hiccup laughed. "anyways, Y/N" he started. "sorry for dragging you out in the cold"

"Oh no don't worry, it's fine. The snows looks really pretty anyway." You assured him gesturing around.

Hiccup looked around sheepishly then back at you. He smiled "you have snow in your hair" he said softly.

You turned to him and blushed. "so do you" you exclaimed, quickly brushing the snow out of your hair.

Hiccup laughed and reached forward "no don't do that!" He said, he held your arms by your sides. "don't brush it out, it looks pretty"

He smiled down at you. You were taken aback at first, but then smiled gently. "Oh, thank you" you said back. Hiccup chuckled and let go of you. He stepped back and turned to get something from his bag.

"Right, back to business. I asked you out here because I have a Christmas gift for you" he said with a joyful tone.

Your face fell. "Hiccup no, you really shouldn't have" you rambled. "I haven't got you anything, I didn't realise, I'm so sorry but I really can't accept any gifts" You continued to refuse the gift until he eventually hushed you.

"You don't even know what it is yet!" He said.

"Yes but" you exaggerated

"But nothing" he said sternly. Suddenly he turned back to you and shoved something into your hands.

"Hiccup-" you stared, looking down. He'd given you a small necklace, you lifted it up. It was a circular pendant with a small engraving on it, an image of some sort of winged creature.

"It's a dragon" hiccup said, noticing your confusion.

You looked at him in disbelief. "Hiccup it's wonderful thank you so much!" You exclaimed. You smiled at the necklace, it really was quite pretty. "where on earth did you get this?!"

Hiccups eyes fluttered downwards. "it was, my um, my mother's" he said.

You stopped. You looked at him and just smiled. You didn't realise how personal it was to him. You quickly asked him if he could help out it on. Hiccup agreed, almost snapping out of some daze. He walked behind you and took the necklace out of your hands. You moved your hair to one side as he brought the necklace round your neck. His hand grazed the side of your neck, sending a small shiver down your spine at the touch. He fastened the back of the necklace and hastily stepped away. You turned to him.
