I'm not sure where I lost you,

Though you say things haven't changed,

But when you leave home,

Things become rearranged.

You want to fight,

Protect your home,

But do you need to be a Seabee?

Your dedication has surely shown.

And even though you're home,

Your mind is there,

Not happy here,

I guess sometimes love isn't fair.

I'm not saying I want ALL your attention,

But hearing "I love you" would be nice,

I'm competing with a woman named war,

And because of her we're as cold as ice.

I'm not asking for much,

Just a little compassion,

But maybe it's just me,

Maybe I'm old fashioned.

Because I feel like I never see you,

And in fact I don't,

Because when you promise to call,

It's like a promise saying you won't.
