Bailey woke up in a cold sweat, he couldn't help the dreams he'd kept having, and they were really more like nightmares. It was always him being abused, sometimes he'd have the same dream again, like it was memory that was hiding somewhere deep down in his brain.

Once again, he had Adrian leaning over him, looking concerned.

"Bro you alright?" he asked.

Bailey's heart was pounding and he was breathing quickly. He panicked, hastily propping himself up, gulping.

He nodded quickly, "I'm okay, I'm fine."

"Third time in a row, Bailey, should I be worried?" Adrian asked, cocking an eyebrow.

Bailey shook his head, "No!" he exclaimed, a little too quickly, and then smiled reassuringly, "I'm okay. I'm great."

Adrian gave him a strange look, narrowing his eyes at him, “You're an interesting one, you know that?”

Bailey giggled nervously and looked at his hands, which were clasping on to each other in anxiety, “Y-Yeah, I guess so... But no, really, I'm fine.”

The other boy continued looking at him curiously before gesturing for him to move his legs— which he did, curling them close to him— and sat down on his bed by him.

“Tell me about yourself, Bailey. We have time, class doesn't start till later.”

Bailey hugged his knees and looked warily at Adrian. He hesitated before saying, “W-What do you want to know?”

Adrian shrugged, “I don't know, your backstory, what were your parents like? What kind of school did you go to? Stuff like that.”

He looked at Bailey with a smile on his face. He was going to find out more about this mysterious roommate of his.

Bailey just thought for a moment and buried his face in his knees. This was all too much for him. How was he supposed to say anything about his past without making him seem like a freak?

“Hey, what is it? What happened?” Adrian said, “You can tell me anything, you know, you can trust me. I might be an ass to some people but I keep secrets.”

Bailey peaked up and shook his head, “You'll think I'm weird.” he said softly, and put his head back down.

“I don't know what your definition of weird is, but I've thought you were weird ever since you walked in here, so you're not making things any worse for yourself.” Adrian said, chuckling.

Bailey frowned and looked back up at him, sighing, “Fine.” he said, “But you better keep this all secret.”

Adrian nodded.

“Promise?”

“Pinky promise.” he said, and put out his pinky finger to the smaller boy, who wrapped it with his own little one.

Bailey smiled at the cute gesture, and Adrian looked at him expectantly, “Well? Go on then.”

With a sigh, Bailey began. He couldn't lie, but lying and not telling the whole truth were two different things.

“My mother died when I was young. She was a wonderful woman, really, and I miss her dearly. Anyway, after her death my dad pulled me out of school early— around 12, maybe, I started working. We needed the extra money, anything we could get.” he took a deep breath and continued, “So I haven't been educated since I was twelve, uh, you probably noticed the past couple of days in school, I haven't been able to keep up.”

“That's not your fault though, don't worry about it.” Adrian said reassuringly.

Bailey smiled and continued, “So anyway, there was an... Um... an incident. My father was killed, the man who killed him let me live, but... I sometimes wish... Nevermind.” he shook his head to snap himself out of it. He couldn't just blindly trust this boy, even if he was so handsome.
