Adrian stepped out of the shower feeling a lot better than before, he dried himself off, ruffled his curls that were getting a little too long, and wrapped the towel around his waist, getting out of the bathroom, humming a song softly, and looked up from the floor, letting out a little yelp.

“Jesus, Mason, you gave me a heart attack.” he said, seeing Mason standing against the door, his arms crossed over his chest.

“Oh yeah? Well you would've deserved it, you piece of shit.” Mason snapped, while Adrian, who was looking through his clothes for a fresh pair of boxers, turned around to look at him with his eyebrows furrowed, forehead creased.

“What?” Adrian said, confused.

“Your boyfriend sees you making out with a girl, the hot cheerleader who you told him not to worry about, and runs off, out into the night. Your boyfriend, who has a pretty bad history of being out alone, who you would be worried about. And you just go take a shower and get ready for bed?” Mason said, his voice rising steadily in anger.

Adrian rolled his eyes, “God, Mason, he's probably fine.”

“Really?” Mason said, pushing himself away from the door and stepping forward, “It's almost midnight and he's not back.”

“He's probably just with—”

“I don't want to hear your assumptions.” Mason boomed, his voice raised, dripping with annoyance, disappointment, “You've made enough of those about him. You even believed Tyson when he said he'd cheated on you.”

“Mason, he had a voice recording.” Adrian said, getting equally annoyed at this point.

“Shut up.” Mason snapped, “Sit down and listen to me, you dumb fuck. It was all part of his little plan. His actually really well thought out plan. He'd set Delphine on you, Peter, the actor, on Bailey, get Peter to make Bailey open up, tell him about his past, make him say things, and conveniently record the right parts.”

Adrian froze and took a step back, sitting down on the bed and looking up at Mason with curious, concerned eyes.

Mason continued, glad he'd finally gotten Adrian's attention, “Then he uses your being hurt as an opportunity to make Delphine keep flirting, and you really fell right into his trap, since you went and made out with her.”

“You told me to go to her!” Adrian complained, and Mason put a hand out for him to stop.

“I know what I did and I regret it. You should too.” he said, “Then just Tyson's luck, Bailey walks in and sees it, crushing him completely. So, naturally, Bailey goes off to get drunk, and that's when Tyson sets his little goons off to get Bailey.”

Adrian's hands trembled in his lap and he clasped them in each other to make it stop. It all made sense.

“Where is he?” he whispered, then said louder, “Mason, where is Bailey?”

“Tristan's gone to get him. Followed Tyson.” Mason said simply, “In fact he's on his way back. I think you have some explaining to do to Bailey. Now get dressed, he's coming back.”

“Is he okay?” Adrian asked softly.

Mason, who had begun walking out, turned around, gave him a small shrug, and left.

On the cab ride back, Tristan had explained the whole thing to Bailey, and as soon as he'd finished, Bailey had fallen asleep. But despite being asleep, he hadn't looked peaceful, rather worried, uncomfortable. It didn't surprise Tristan, he wouldn't be comfortable if he were in Bailey's place either.
