Bailey walked into the classroom, taking a deep breath. It would be okay, everything would be just fine. He kept his chin up and looking directly at Tristan, trying to block out everything else.
But he could sense the eyes on him, hear people whispering, hear little snickers coming from people. It was probably just his imagination; they couldn't possibly still be talking about him.
"How much you take for a night?" a guy asked him, smirking.
Bailey took a small step forward, turning quickly to the guy, "What?" he said under his breath.
"Let me treat you like those old customers of yours would, baby." someone else said and he froze, his eyebrows drawing together in confusion.
He turned around and stumbled backwards, the buy advancing on him.
"I-I don't know what you mean." he said, scared.
The guy gave him a nasty glare of disgust and shoved him backwards, "Filthy prostitutes like you don't belong here."
Bailey's breath caught, "H-How did you-?"
"A little birdie told me." the guy said, and Bailey turned to Tristan- who had stood up, ready to protect him- with a hurt look.
"Not him."
Bailey turned back to the guy.
"What made you stop slutting around to earn, huh?" the guy asked, "Got too worn out?"
"N-No! I never wanted to-"
"Dirty whore, get out of here."
Bailey's eyes filled with tears and he pushed the boy away, running out of the class.
"Whoa, Bailey, everything okay?" Adrian asked, as he ran past him in the hallway.
Bailey shook his head and ran into the bathroom, closing the door, and sliding down to the ground, crying.
If Tristan didn't tell him then who did? He remember Adrian saying he could trust him, his understanding smile, the sympathetic look on his face. He wouldn't tell anyone, would he? He couldn't.
Bailey shook his head, it could've been Adrian. But who else could it have been. He thought of how Adrian was completely wasted the night before, he could've told people then.
A knock came on the door.
"Bailey are your alright?"
It was Adrian.
"Go away!" Bailey exclaimed.
"I'm not going anywhere" Adrian said, sounding worried, "open the door and tell me what happened."
Bailey took a deep breath and opened the door, looking at Adrian with teary eyes.
"I trusted you." he whispered.
Adrian looked at him with confusion, "Whatever happened, I'm sorry, but-"
"How could you?" Bailey cried, ""Your secrets are safe with me" I really believed that, I thought we were friends."
"What? I don't know what you're talking about!" Adrian exclaimed.
"Do you even remember everything that happened last night?"
Adrian looked at Bailey for a second and shook his head, "No, I was drunk, I don't-"
"Just leave me alone." Bailey said.
"No, Bailey, whatever I did, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"I said leave me alone." Bailey said, tears streaming down his cheeks.
