"That's why I'm disgusting. That's why I hate myself more than them, more than Tyson. Because even when it was over, the next few days, my body wanted more."
Adrian shook his head, "That's not your fault. Don't beat yourself up for it." he said, cupping Bailey's face lightly, "Don't blame yourself, okay? It wasn't a choice, making you... Your body so accustomed to that, it's- that's child abuse. It's cruelty. And it wasn't because of you. It was your father. Not you."
Bailey hadn't realised his mouth was hanging open from the physical contact with Adrian, but he closed it quickly, swallowing hard.
"Understood?"
He nodded slowly and Adrian smiled, little dimples forming, making his heart melt.
"Good." Adrian said and patted his cheek, "I really want to tell you it'll all be okay but I know it won't help. Those boys are revolting people and you will have to see them every day of your life and maybe you'll manage to forget but they better be feeling like crap about it. It'll be hard, very hard, I know. But with time it'll get easier and before you know it you'll be old enough to get out of here."
Bailey nodded again, "Thanks, Adrian." he said and smiled, "You're real nice, you know?"
Adrian giggled, "Yeah, well, you got lucky. Not everyone here would've been as nice as me. Not everyone would care for you so much."
Bailey felt butterflies in his stomach. He cared for him?
"You're like a little brother to me, I need to take care of you."
Oof, that was like a physical blow to Bailey's heart. Despite the pain he felt, he smiled and bobbed his head up and down slightly.
"I got lucky." he agreed, and Adrian stood up, ruffling his hair.
"I should be getting back. But take care of yourself, okay? Is your back okay now?" Adrian asked.
"Yeah." Bailey said, "It doesn't really hurt anymore."
"Good." Adrian said, "I'll send Tristan up with food later, alright?"
"Okay." Bailey swung his legs up on his bed and waved to Adrian, "Have fun studying."
Adrian chuckled, "We both know I'm not actually paying attention."
Bailey laughed as well and Adrian opened the door, saying bye and walking out.
As soon as the door shut behind him, Bailey's smile fell and he curled his knees up to his chest, hugging them and burying his face in them.
By the time Adrian got back to class, people were packing up their things to leave. Sure, he stopped about five times in the hallway on the way back, wondering if he should go back to Bailey and keep him company, give him a hug. And yes, he went to the long way and stopped at the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror and make sure his hair looked good.
He walked into the classroom and hurriedly threw his books into his bag, rushing out to catch up with Tristan and make sure he went to Bailey as soon as he could.
He went out and began walking down the hallway to find him and was about to turn the corner when he heard voices and stopped in his tracks, hiding behind the wall. The voices were low, almost like a whisper, but loud enough for him to make out the words.
"You know they won't believe you so what the fuck do you think you're doing by threatening me?"
He heard whimpers, whines, "P-Please, let me go. I won't tell anyone, I swear. I won't say a word."
