Chapter 10

Ashley-

Right now, I'm four months pregnant, and it's going pretty well. Ross, Mom, and I went to an appointment to find out what the gender of the baby is about a month ago, and it's a - quote on quote - healthy baby boy.

Right now though, we're out shopping to decorate the nursery.

"You sure you want to give to your room, Ash?" Mom turns away from a wall sticker rack to look at me.

I nod. "Yeah, yeah. It's totally fine, Mom. I promise."

"Okay..." She answers warily, making me touch her shoulder lightly. "Mom, it's okay. I promise." She nods, just as Ross comes up to us with little slips of paper about an inch wide.

"What shade of blue?" Ross holds them out. One has a very dark blue, to a nice, mellow blue, and the other is darker shades.

"Hmm," I think. "I like pastel blue," I point at the lighter blue. "What do you want?"

"I like what you picked," he smiles at me. "Okay," I nod. "We'll get the paint in just a minute, babe."

"What about these?" Mom holds up a sheet of train wall stickers. "Those are perfect!" I exclaim. "They match the paint colour we chose perfectly!"

She smiles at me, putting them in the basket. After an hour or so, we're finally done, and we arrive home.

"ASH!" Rydel runs down the stairs, trampling me in a hug.

"Hey Delly," I laugh. She pulls back. "What'd you find?"

"Everything, actually," I grin. "You wanna help me unpack?" She nods vigorously, making me laugh again, as we head down the hallway to the spare room, that was used for storage before.

Ross-

I watch as Ashley walks down the hall with Rydel to unpack everything for the nursery, until they disappear into the room.

"Ross? Ross!" Rocky waves a hand in my face.

"Huh? Oh - hi," I turn to him, to see a smirk engraved on his lips.

"Why're you staring?" He teases, making me blush. "Shut up!" I smile down at my Converse nonetheless.

"You really love her, don't you?" He nudges me.

I nod. I guess I do. I smile slightly at the thought.

"I think I should go help Ash with the nursery," I say, making Rocky nod as I walk down the hall, toward the room.

Ashley-

Rydel had to leave the room to go help Mom with something, but then I hear footsteps behind me, then arms around me.

"Hey," Ross whispers into my ear. I turn around in his arms, a small smile on my lips.

"Hi," I say. "Here to help?" He nods. "Yeah. But I think we need some music while we work," he grins. "Okay. The dock's over there." I point to the iPhone dock across the room in the corner on the floor.

Ross crouches down, docking his phone. We get to work as music plays, and then, after a bunch of songs, one of my favorites comes on; Always by Bon Jovi. I stop my work, and start to sing along.

"This Romeo is bleeding

But you can't see his blood

It's nothing but some feelings

That this old dog kicked up

It's been raining since you left me

And now I'm drowning in the flood
