Chapter 12 - The Grand Magic Games (2)

The Grand Magic Games!

Rogue had been distant ever since he even mentioned the games. You think it's because of Fairy Tail's Gajeel Redfox, but you couldn't be sure. You've tried talking to Rogue, but he changes the subject every time.

Even when you all were in town earlier, he acted differently to Natsu Dragoneel. Maybe he's only different towards you, but to everyone else he's like that. He looked pretty scary too. He use to act that distant and scary to you too, but when you started dating, he was alllovey dovey non-stop.

Rogue, Frosch, Sting, and Lector are all sharing a room for the games so you decided to visit them before midnight. They were more than happy to see you, but Rogue was still a bit distant. "Don't worry, I'll be cheering for you guys in the stands!" You tell them in a cheerful tone.

"Us too!" Frosch and Lector cheer along with you.

"I wouldn't worry too much about it. We're going to win again I mean, we are Sabertoothafter all." Sting and his gloating self never seem to stop.

You look at the distracted Rogue for a second and then get ready to head out. "I should leave. They did say that you guys should wait till midnight here so I don't think you guys need me here." You start heading out the door to give them their privacy.

"Bye guys, good luck!" You smile at all of them and wish them a good night before opening and closing their door.

As you were beginning to walk down the hallway, you hear their door open. You quickly turn around and see Rogue walking your way. "Hey, are you okay?" You ask, but Rogue just cuts you off with a long passionate kiss. You grip his shirt tight as he pulls you in closer with his strong arms around your waist.

When he finally releases you, he sighs and closes his eye. "Are you okay?" You ask as he puts his face in the crook of your neck.

"Yeah, I just haven't done that in a while." He was right, he hasn't really kissed you in a while, which surprised you. Usually he would make jokes about getting you in bed with him, but it's not like you hated the jokes. You missed his puppy love side the he didn't show anyone else but you.

You stay hugging like that for a while until you realize it's almost midnight. "You should go. You don't want to get in trouble do you?" You giggle, pushing yourself away from him.

"I might if it means I get to spend more alone time with you." There it was. The jokes were back.

You blush and kiss his cheek. "I know, but you should get back."

"I know." He kisses your forehead before really leaving. "Sweet dreams, my love." He whispers so only you could hear him.

That right there almost made you faint on the spot. You blush a bright pink as you answer him, "Sweet dreams, and good luck at the games." You two kiss and then go your separate ways.

You head to your room and run straight to the patio outside. It was one minute till midnight. 'Any second now.' You thought to yourself as you look at the clock on the side table next to your bed.

*Ring* The clock goes off, telling you that it's midnight. Suddenly, the inn starts moving and rises up into the air. When the building stops moving, a sudden pathway leads from the contestants rooms to a large labyrinth. "Is this a part of the games?"

All of a sudden a pumpkin comes on a screen via lacrima. "Kabo!" 'Not this guy again...' When you would watch the games before, he would always say that. It was annoying at some points, but everyone seemed to love it.

The pumpkin man explains how this is an elimination round and only the top eight would enter in the Grand Magic Games. "Why are there so many guilds in the first place?" That confused you the most.

After he explains the games he disappears and leaves everyone to run around the labyrinth. You see the Sabertooth team running up their path and into the labyrinth.

"Good luck Sabertooth!" You cup your hands and shout as loud as you can. "GoSabertooth!"

Today was officially the first day of the Grand Magic Games. Everyone was cheering and shouting for their favorite team. Everyone had posters, flags, and some even had body paint. Talk about loyalty to their team.

You were in the stands cheering along with other Sabertooth guild mates. Lector andFrosch were in the Sabertooth booth cheering for Sting and Rogue while you stayed in the common area. You were pretty excited because you've never actually been to the games before. It was truly amazing and exciting.

"Here comes the 8th place contestants!" You look down at the Fairy Tail gates and see the Fairy Tail team enter the stadium. You thought they were awesome, but while you were cheering, everyone was booing and possibly cursing them out.

Luckily, you weren't the only one cheering. Turns out all the Fairy Tail guild members were there, cheering for their comrades. 'I wish our guild was like that.' It was a silly wish, but you wanted more than anything to just be in a guild like that.

After them, the rest of the guilds came. Then there was the second place guild that shocked you. "Two Fairy Tail teams!?" Wow, that put you guys at a disadvantage.

Now it was Saber's turn. Everyone in the stands jumped up cheering once Sabertooth was announced. Sting was in front with an amazing pose that showed everyone that they wereSabertooth. Then there was Yukino, Orga, Rufus, and Rogue. 'Good luck Rogue.' "You got this Sabertooth!" You shout to them along with all the other cheering people.

This was it, you were finally going to see your guild play in The Grand Magic Games! The weird pumpkin man comes and tells everyone how the games work and what everyone's part is in them.

After he tells the rules and everything else, he announced the first competition. Hidden! And up for Sabertooth was Rufus.

'Sabertooth's definitely going to win this! Especially with Rufus!' You look at all the contestants to see his competitors.

There was the weird dude from Quatro Cerberus, a girl with red braids from Mermaid Heel, this weird purple looking guy from Raven Tail, a silver-haired ice mage from Lamia Scale, and from the two Fairy Tail guilds was a woman with blue hair and another ice mage with raven hair, and let's not forget one of the many heart throbs from Blue Pegasus.

While you were looking at them, you notice the two ice mages arguing and the blue haired one looking awkwardly towards the Lamia Scale man. It looked like a lovers quarrel. You laugh at the thought of them fighting over love during a magic tournament.

You try to look closer and see the Raven man talking. Rufus cunningly enters the conversation and shuts up the Raven man up. That's Rufus for you. His sly tongue can silence many.

"Time to start Hidden!" You hear people screaming and shouting in joy and excitement. You cheer as well, but stop once you see random buildings appear. You were absolutely speechless. You never would have thought the games would go as far to make a tiny town, but it wasn't called The GRAND Magic Games for nothing.

'I can't wait! Sabertooth's going to win this round, I just know it!'
