Chapter 25 - My One & Only

"Let's break up."

Saying those words was like a stab in your heart. You didn't want your tears falling, so you kept your head down and bit your lip.

You didn't get any response, so you peek up and see Rogue's face. His fists were clenched tightly and you couldn't see his eyes. "Don't joke like that." He says bitterly.

Your hold on the fridge door loosened. You tried to keep yourself from crying, but it was hard. "I'm not joking." You bit your lip even harder to keep yourself from crying.

You knew this was better. If you weren't dating Rogue, then Sting and Yukino would feel better. They would be happy.

Rogue grabs the fride door and slams it shut, making the fridge shake. "What the hell are you talking about (Y/N)?" He walks towards you, backing you up against the kitchen's wall. He slams his hand onto the wall next to you. "What happened? I'm not going to ask again."

You continued looking at the ground, not bearing to look at him. "I decided that..." His eyes were full of fury. He didn't once take his gaze off of you. "That, things would be better if we weren't together." You managed to say the last part without crying.

"You're lying." His words were like fire, burning you each time he talked. You were just glad that Frosch wasn't home and was sleeping over with Lector. Frosch deffinaintaly wouldn't want to see this.

"I'm not." You grab your left sleeve with your right hand and pull on it tightly.

"You are." He takes his other hand and slams it on the wall to your other side, making you jump. "Don't lie to me (Y/N)!" He raised his voice to almost a yell.

"I'm not!" You yell back. "I don't love you anymore!" You hated yourself. You wanted more than anything to just ignore this and kiss him, but you couldn't. You figured that even Rogue would be better off without you.

"Like hell. I know you love me!" He yells.

You tilt your head down more and raise your voice just as high. "I don't!"

You could hear him snarl in anger. "Why?! Is it Sting?!"

"Of course not!" You shout.

"Then why?! What did I do to make you feel like this?!" He shouts back even louder than before.

"I just think it would  be better for everyone if we weren't together!" You couldn't hold it back anymore. You started crying your heart out and it wouldn't stop. You tried your best to lie, but your tears wouldn't stop falling. Those tears were proof that you still loved Rogue, and he knew it.

Rogue stops the yelling and takes you in his arms. It wasn't a fast and lifeless hug that would only last for a few seconds, it was a hug showing you how much he really loved you and how much he didn't want to let you go. "What happened (Y/N)?" You could practically hear his heart breaking. It broke yours just as much.

"Our relationship is just causing everyone pain. I don't want to be happy if it's making our own comrades sad." You held your hands at your eyes, trying to stop your tears from flowing.

"(Y/N)." Rogue squeezes you tighter, listening to your words carefully.

"Hana told me that Yukino loved you and that Sting loved me. She said that our relationship was a shame because it was hurting them." Rogue takes your hands away from your face and holds them in his.

"What about me?" Rogue asks.

You rub your eyes with your shoulders and hide your face. "I thought you would be better off without me. I'm not as pretty as other girls, and Yukino is a lot more nice then I am. She would be a better girlfriend for you."
