Meeting Rogue's father was not something you thought you'd ever do. Hearing of him, sure, but never seeing him in real life.
He was so tall yet shorter than even Sting's father. It was crazy actually. Let alone meeting his father, you had never imagined meeting dragons in general.
And your future father in law was one of the most amazing ones.
His body was made up of almost all shadows and his eyes were the same as Rogue's -- a beautiful deep red. You could see a resemblance even if they weren't blood related.
You could definitely see it with Gajeel and his father, Metalicana too.
"As always you've got that vile look in your eyes." His father poked.
Gajeel just acted like the loud mouth you thought he would. "Shut it!"
And then came the revelation of Skiadrum and Weisslogia's deaths. "I'm pretty sure I killed you."
"I also am quite certain I saw you die, Skiadrum." Rogue says, keeping the tight hold on your hand that he's had for a long time already.
Weisslogia answered, "We can alter human memories essentially at will."
Then Skiadrum further explained the situation. "Igneel was against us doing so though... Ultimately what we intended to do was grant you dragon slayers both the memory of killing us and the results you would achieve had you actually done so."
But the real truth was a lot more depressing than originally thought. "Even so... to call us 'dead' would only be half correct." Says Weisslogia as he goes on. "We are already dead."
Seeing Wendy so vulnerable was saddening. The bright girl you met was replaced with a strong yet weak girl who cared deeply for her mother.
The extraction of their souls, and the time they had left was what little information they left you all with. "We have not had the chance to tell you everything, but alas, the time has come for us to part."
And poor Wendy was already on the verge of tears. Her loving mother comforted her as well as Gajeel while the other dragons said their goodbyes to their human children.
"Skiadrum..." You whispered as you stared.
He looked you up and down in curiosity. He then turned to Rogue and asked politely, "This is your mate?"
Rogue squeezed your hand more and brought you close. He smiled. "This is my wife and the mother of my two children."
Hearing him call you his wife regardless of documentation made your heart flutter.
Skiadrum's eyes grew and his smile widened. "Then you would be the mother of my grandchildren, correct?"
You smiled back with kind eyes and love in your heart as you nodded. "Yes. It's nice to finally meet you, Skiadrum."
"And you, my daughter." His acceptance was all you needed. He was an amazing dragon and your new father in law, so of course it was important that he accepted you with what little time you had.
"O humans... the days we fought one another... the days we hated one another... those are all in the past."
"Today we were able to join hands together in peace."
As the great white dragon flew with the others he said, "The age of us dragons has, in one sense, come to an end."
Then your amazing father in law, Skiadrum, says, "The future from here on out shall be forged by the power of humanity."
"In accordance with the coven made 400 years ago between dragon and man, the Magna Carta, we dragons shall continue to watch over and protect all mankind. For Eternity."
