"Kiva or the ranger base?" Ratchet asked himself as he flew nefarious hadn't noticed them gone yet or at least he hadn't done anything about it. Alexis stirred "ratch...where are we?" She asked half asleep "I'm taking you back to the ranger base." He answered she shot up "are you crazy they'll kill me! I did things I wish I could forget!" Alexis yelled ratchet turned to face her while putting the ship in autopilot "hey hey calm down. Nefarious can't get you ok?" Ratchet said calmly "what makes you say that?!" Alexis demanded "because....I'm here." He said holding her hand she looked at him as her breathing slowed to it's normal pace. "You sure? Are you sure?" She asked "yes." Ratchet took her other hand "all I remember was coming home and-
The girls oh kief! Charlotte is gonna kill me!" She half laughed "I'm a mess." She sputtered out ratchet smiled "your not a mess lex. It'll take some time that's all."
"How long have I been gone. the last day I remember was the 23rd of February 2019." Alexis said "6 months. And your dad-"
"I've been gone how long?! Oh kief! And what about my dad?" Alexis asked

"he's......dead." ratchet said sadly

Alexis made a noise that sounded somewhere in between a scream and a sob. She buried her face in her hands when she yanked them from ratchets grip. She didn't even care about her armor that was getting stained with tears ratchet sat next to her and pulled her into a hug. Another sob came from alexis as she buried her face in the crook of ratchet's neck ratchet hugged her as his eyes shut holding on to her as she had been through so much today. Fighting whatever nefarious did, finding out about how long she'd been gone, and now finding out about her father's death. Ratchet rubbed her back as she cried after a few minutes she separated from him looked him straight in the eye and said

"How."

"Alister died when he turned off the great clock. So it wouldn't-"
"That stupid clock was real!" Alexis yelled ratchet flinched
"the night before he left we had a fight about it I told him that it wasn't real and that he was looking for a way to fix a really bad mistake. A week later he left with him saying he was going on a long term trip. He'd done it before he called every week until...he didn't. I didn't report him missing and neither did the girls. I tried looking for him and that's how I met nefarious. He said he'd... he'd." Alexis broke down again. "He left you a couple things." Ratchet said he handed her the pocket watch and the note. She took them both her hand shaking she read the note. Looked at the watch and just sighed

"I'm sorry daddy. At least we left each other on loving terms."
"Can we go now?" She asked looking at her feet ratchet nodded and went back to the steering wheel.

At the ranger base after a week and a half

Alexis was in a room that had grey walls, a window, a bed with white covers, and a door that could only be opened on the outside. Ratchet and clank visited her the most they often found her looked at the ceiling just staring. Lost in her thoughts or what was left of them.

"Why don't you escape? You can can't you?" Clank asked "oh I can 3 different ways for me right off the bat. The window, the vent, and the door." Alexis responded numbly "I can teleport anywhere I can see. So being not able to takes away my ability. But I'm not all warping."
"I see." Clank said "but why don't you lex?" Asked quietly alexis huffed a laugh and rolled on her side to face them "because wouldn't it make me look even MORE like a criminal?" She rolled on her back again and continued to stare at the ceiling

"besides. I'm mentally unstable!" She yelled cheerfully

"What of we could find your friends." Ratchet asked clank seemed to want to know this as well. She shot them a glance "If you could find Charlotte and Robecca I'd love to at least hear from them....I miss them." Alexis rolled onto her side and looked at the wall. Ratchet and clank took this a sign to get going. Once they did they went straight to elaris who was doing research on nefarious since his coming back. "Laris? Hey." Ratchet said elaris snapped out of tunnel vision "oh hey ratchet alexis doing alright? Her physical condition is doing good but her mental state is...I think you already know." She sighed "we were hoping to find her 2 friends their the next best thing to family she has." Clank said "course, their names?" Elaris turned back to her computer she had a real office now. With a real lab. "Um Charlotte copperchain and Robecca steam." Ratchet said "uh huh... ah ha! Here we go! Wow they live really close by her. No wonder." Elaris commented "sending you there addresses. There we go. Good luck guys." She smiled "thanks!" Ratchet said as he picked up clank and ran to his ship.
