"What inspired you to start experimenting?", I ask, observing his every movement.
He waits a second before answering, as if he's unsure where to even begin. "Even gifted with magic, I felt like I couldn't do enough to heal people, to save them, to make their lives more bearable. And so I decided that if there was a cure to every disease and affliction, I have to find it. And if there isn't, at least I tried."
"That's not what I asked," I gently correct him.
He looks me straight in the eyes. "It was you, you inspired me. With every aching fiber in that beautiful soul of yours."
