Under the cover of the midnight darkness, the assassin made her way through the narrow alleys of the big city. While she never liked her job much, it did pay her bills, and then some. And in a dog-eat-dog kind of world, that was more than she had ever dared to hope for. Besides, she found she was good at this line of work, and maybe one day she could even excel at it.
But first things first. This was an important hit, one that could earn her more money than she had ever seen in one place, and one that could really put her on the map.
She adjusted her cloak one last time, and got to work.
Author's Note: Even assassins worry about the bills they have to pay. Who knew?
