Luckily there's a trash can next to the bench, and I use it as hurl my stomach into it. Crap, I need to eat. Unlike vampires I don't drink human blood, it fills me up as much as a crum would a human and it doesn't replenish my energy. I feast on the blood of vampires, but I really hate having to feed at all.
Aiden rushes over to me, rubbing my back as I puke into the trash can. "It's going to be okay." Aiden assures me; his assurance almost makes the pain go away mentally. I don't know but he has a calming aura about him. I grab some tissues out from my bag to wipe my mouth with as I finish throwing up. "I'm fine now." I assure Aiden, now wanting his warm touch to leave my back.
I get back up on my feet and shake off the feeling of hunger. Hunger is hell for a vampire, but it's especially bad for me. Picture this, a small container with a bomb inside; if you're not careful it will explode. I'm a walking bomb of ancient power, and if I'm not careful I might die from my own gift. "Yo bro!" Luke shouts as he nears us.
"Laura, if you're not feeling well you can go home." Aiden proposes with worry of my current state. "it's fine, I"m just really hungry." I assure him not wanting to miss this chance to find out if Luke is a good guy. Aiden thinks for a moment before snapping his finger, "that's right I've never seen you eat lunch." Aiden comments.
"Luke, Laura is going to send the night with us, so that I can teach her to write in English since she's a foreigner." Aiden explains to his brother who does't seem to have a problem.
It's weird that Luke only picks up Aiden this late; either he has a job or he is a vampire, but vampires developed to being in the sunlight only six years ago. Long ago in the beginning of vampires they either hide from the light or had daylight jewelry that protected them. A vampire managed to learn how to extract the magic in daylight jewelry and make it a drinkable substance. This vampire had the liquid injected into his blood stream, meaning if he turned someone they would not have to worry able the sunlight.
I don't know who did it, but I do know it was some guy. If Luke really is a vampire, then he must be from a bloodline that hasn't have the daylight water (what it's known as) in their system. Very few vampires are still unable of being in the light, but most have daylight water in their system. It's truly rare to run into someone without it in their system. I never needed it because I am immortal, immune to all diseases and I'm the go of gods. Nothing can truly injure me.
"Let's head home." Luke suggests and we follow him. It doesn't take long to reach Aiden's house, which makes me wonder why he needs to wait for his brother. The house if fairly sized, fit for two or three people. "You can look around while I grab some snacks." Aiden tells me as he walks over to the kitchen. The house is a one bedroom, one bath, and a storage room which they turned into a bedroom.
By the looks of it they aren't wealthy, but wealth doesn't matter.
"So Aiden, your house is only five minutes away, why wait for Luke?" I ask out of curiosity. "T-there's very bad people around this area." I watch his features as he answered the question, he's telling the truth but I still feel as if he's hiding something. "Yes, there's vampires!" Luke teases but doesn't get a reaction out of me. "Luke!" Aiden yelps after being startled by Luke.
Aiden grabs a pillow off the couch and throws it at his brother, then goes back to the kitchen. "All we have for snacks is chips." Aiden says feeling ashamed and embarrassed. "No worries, you don't have to feed me." I assure him; I notice at the corner of my eye Luke is looking at me as if he's examining me. "But you were throwing up earlier because you were hungry." Aiden makes a valid statement. I feel as if Luke is as curious about me as I am about him, it's like he's making sure whether or not I'm a vampire. I start to feel dizzy as hunger begins to take over. I smell the air...
