Ancient Secrets

Chapter 14

Three months pass since the day Luke had gotten hurt extremely bad. I and Aiden graduated high school without a problem, minus the problems after school. I'm currently with the Logan and the guys, getting some supplies ready for the trip the Egypt. I decided on bringing both Luke and Aiden.

Of course things have been awkward between I and Aiden since that day, but we've slowly been getting closer. He said he would date me whenever I was ready, so he's basically waiting on me which makes me feel bad. 

If I cast this spell there's a chance that I'll die, it's a fifty-fifty type of deal that I have neglected to tell Luke and Aiden. Cronus wasn't even strong enough to pull something like this off even in his golden days. I'm stronger than him, but that doesn't mean I'll come out alive. In one of the secret rooms in the palace is a closet where I keep my ceremonial outfits, so I'll grab it when I'm ready to cast the spell. 

There's a mixture of excitement and anxiety about all of this, because you never know if anything might back fire. This spell has to be cased perfectly without a problem, it's not a spell that you can cover up a minor mistake. Uranus, Cronus father, warned me of the spell the even he or Gaea could cast the spell. They had once, but the turnout was not well. The only reason either of them survived is because they were performing the spell together, but the fact is they nearly died. My chances of success aren't really high as I would like them to be in this situation. 

"Come on, I got the car ready." Orion whines as he impatiently waits for me to finish packing my things. "Ready," is all I say before heading out the door with Luke and Aiden tailing behind me. Orion seems pleased with the company I have chosen to bring along, probably because Aiden doesn't have the strength to take him on. We place our things in the truck of the grey jeep that belongs to Orion. Aiden and Luke sit in the back while I and Orion sit in the front, Orion drives. He starts to engine then we make our way to the airport.

Hours later we're in Egypt, making our way to the palace that belongs to me. "Where do we need to start at?" Orion asks as he looks from the palace to the temple. I motion towards the temple, answering his question. He turns left then stops ten feet away from the temple. We all get out of the jeep. 

In order to preform the spell I have to wait til the moon shines directly above the palace, but I need to check some things in the temple. I have to use one of the tablets to open one of the doors in the temple. I start to make my way towards the pool of perfectly clear water. Orion furrows his eyebrows in confusion. 

I walk into the pool, then I grab the chains at the bottom of the pool and clank them onto my wrists. If the chains are that are currently rusted turn into gold, then you are pure of heart. "What are you doing?" Orion asks obviously confused by what I am doing. 

"I'm trying to open the entrance to the temple." I answer but his confusion only grows. I ignore him and concentrate on what I'm doing. The chains quickly turn into gold, the water then moves to the sides of the pool forming a 'U' shape. The white wall of the pool before me slowly begins to open, dust particles going everywhere as it does. Orion stares wide eyed as he sees the events happening. He rushes in before I get the chains off, he stops in his tracks as a large roar comes from the other side of the entrance.

Panthers guard the entrance to the temple, and not just any panthers. These panthers are called portal panthers, they are good at guarding and can teleport where ever they want to. The one in the middle is Akamail, the leader of the portal panthers and my personal one. I have many of them stationed in Olympus, when ever one of them sees something bad going on they send it to Akamail without having to lift a paw. All they're minds are linked to Akamail. Once she receives it she presses her head against the palm so I can see the situation.
