I have one more week before I'm due and there hasn't been a sign of Alfred since last month. My stomach as grown a bit, meaning I have been kept out of sight from the other gods. I know I should tell them so I can ensure my unborn child's safety, but I don't trust all the gods. This child will one day take my throne so I'll sleep away time as it rules this world. I can't risk any sort of danger to befall this child, even if it means hiding from the very ones I raised as if they were my own.
I hear a liquid spill on the floor, and my legs feel wet. I look down only to see my water broke. "It's coming!" I shout, alerting the maids to help me to the room where I will be birthing my child.
I'm set on a stone table with my head on pillows. They only allow Aiden in the room with me and nobody else. Aiden comes to my side, taking my hand into his own.
"Your majesty, I need you to push." The physician tells me, as he waits in between my legs for the baby.
For hours and hours my screams fill the kingdom as I struggle to push the baby out. Beads of sweat cover my entire body, the pain of feeling your insides being torn is unbearable, since I never get really get hurt. All the pain and time seems to be worth it when I hear the small cries of a baby.
"It's a princess." The physician informs me, he wraps the baby in clothe and cleans her nose, mouth, and ears of liquids.. He hands me the baby, and I cradle her in my arms. She slowly stops crying, feeling comforted in my arms. "What will you name her?" Aiden asks with tears of happiness about to fall from his eyes.
"Acacia Amnia Nile." I answer as I run my hands along her soft head.
Aiden's POV
The physician had me leave the room temporarily to run some tests on Acaria and Acacia. When I return Acaria is laying down on the bed with a sound asleep Acacia. Acaria's eyes are closed, but I know she isn't sleeping. I never believed I was ever going to be a father, I only planned on finding a job to just live. A girlfriend, marriage, and a baby never crossed my mind. I always believed it was just going to be Luke and me.
Acacia looks so fragile unlike her mom, but like me. I walk over to the side on the bed where Acacia is, then kiss her head. I walk over to the other side and due the same for Acaria. "She's beautiful." I whisper as I sit at the edge of the bed, making a dip. Acaria's golden eyes open, shimmering in the moonlight. A smile slowly creeps onto her lips.
"She resembles you in a way." She says smoothly, her voice not cracking one bit after all that screaming. "Are you saying I look like a girl." I complain, feeling as if she strike the little pride I had. She giggles softly at my response. "No, I don't mean that, I mean I guess cause she's human." She says a little unsure or as if she didn't know how to put it into words.
"By the way, I'm not having anymore kids." Hisses as she turns to me, glaring at me. "Aye, Aye captain." I reply with a small chuckle leaving my mouth. I know she doesn't want to go through that again, I don't want to have to watch her go through that. I'll respect her wishes, plus one is better than two.
A small twinkle crosses Acaria's eyes as she realizes something. "Though she is daughter of the sun, she is the ruler of the night." Acaria says, it takes me a second to realize what she means. Back in her day the sun represented the king and the queen was moon. Acaria told me that the day she became queen she represented the sun and moon, I think that may have been a sign she was going to become a god, it's only a theory.
"She rules both?" I ask still slightly confused by what she said. "Yes, but more the night than day, but that may change on her awakening." I give Acaria a strange look when she said 'awakening'.
"She'll have to follow certain rules because she is both a princess and future god." Acaria explains with a frown plaguing her lips. "What happens if her powers get out of hand?" I ask slightly worried. Acacia is the first to be like this I think.
"She will not be able to use her powers fully yet, I died in the process when I was being gifted my powers." My eyes widen when I put the puzzle pieces together, Acacia might die if she uses her powers... "Anubis told me it was the time of my awakening, so if she were to use her powers before that time it may cost her,her life."
"When will the awakening be?" I ask startled y the information Acaria is giving me. "That I do not know." She answers as she moves closer to Acacia.
I hope that her powers won't kill her I won't be able to handle that, and neither can Acaria. I will do my best to be the best father in the world to protect my little girl!
Luke pops his head through the door, he mouths 'can I come in?' she he doesn't wake up little Acacia. I nod, then he walks in slowly. A wide dumb looking smile grows on his face as he sees Acacia. "Man you guys did some working." Luke says as he scratches the back of his neck, then winking at me. I blush when I realize what he means. It was only once!!!!!
"Better than what you can probably do." Acaria comments, Luke looks about to come up with a come back, but then remembers that Acacia is asleep. I gives her a 'I'm going to get you back' glare. I smile at the two, still wondering why she pick me instead of Luke. He's strong, brave, bold, and a little perverted. Yet she chooses the small frail little brother who can barely protect himself. I always believed men should protect woman, that's why when Acaria saved me all those times I was offended; I was the man in the situation and should of protected her. She protected me because I was a good person.
But so is she.
