Chapter 18

"You're pregnant."

My eyes widen and so does Luke's and Aiden's. 

"It also seems that the child is growing faster than in a usual pregnancy." The physician tells me. I rub my stomach, that would make sense as to why I was so hungry earlier. I didn't even know I could get pregnant, I'm a vampire. I thought I wasn't able to...

"Luke, bring me Anubis; no one outside the kingdom is allowed to know about this, and if I find out someone said anything outside the kingdom then I'll make sure they pay." I bark out orders, still in shock about the news I have just been informed of. The physician nods and Luke leaves to find Anubis. Nariin rushes into my room with a worried look on his face.

"Your majesty, there's vampires right outside the barrier trying to find a way in." Nariin informs me.

They must be able to sense it. Luke comes in with Anubis following behind him. "General Nariin, protect the people; General Luke, get your men by the entrance to ensure no one gets in, and make sure there's no humans, they'll be able to sense them." They both bow their heads before running off to complete their duties.

"Anubis you bastard you neglected to tell me I could get pregnant!" Hiss letting all my anger out. "Not my fault you weren't safe." Aiden puts a comforting hand on my shoulder to hold me back.

"I'm a vampire, we are perfectly unable to get pregnant." I state knowingly.

"True, but you are not like other vampires, you are not like the other gods; you can get pregnant because you need a heir to your throne." Anubis explains to me. He's right, while the gods can be reincarnated I can't. It's too much power to just throw on a child unless they were born from me. They would have my genes to help with the overwhelming power I hold. 

Aiden lays his head on my stomach, a smile clear on his face. While he seems happy that I will bring a child into this world I'm over here getting angry by the fact. "This child is proof of our love." Aiden says happily, he's right. I need to be happy as well, this child was made with love then it shall receive love. 

The physician comes back into the room when Anubis leaves. "How long til the birth?" I ask as me and Aiden snuggle under the warm blankets of the bed. "Two more months, I need you to eat regular food." He informs me as he has servants bring in food, a feast worth to be exact. I get up and force myself to eat the food despite it's horrible taste. "You can have blood, but not a lot." The physician informs me before heading out my room. Aiden eats with me to comfort me.

Four weeks pass leaving me with a month before I have to give birth to my child. I've been trying to get work done, but Luke and Aiden have been quite literally holding me down so I would be unable to. I'm a woman who needs to work, not a woman who does nothing. I need to work or I will go insane.

We don't have the technology to tell whether the child is a boy or girl like the outside world, so I have to come up with two names. Currently I and Aiden are laying down on my bed since the sun has already set. "Do you want to name the boy or girl?" I ask him as I brush a strand of hair away from his face. "You can name it, I have no problem." My face lights up when I get an idea. "What's your middle name?" I ask him never have ever heard it before. "Aiden Rein Woods." Aiden tells me his full name with a confused tone of voice.

"If it's a boy his name will be Aaron rein Nile." Aiden smiles at the name. I still need to think on the name for the girl, but the name would definitely have Amnia Nile. I never pictured the day I would have a child, I wonder what it'll look like. I smile to myself as I realize I'll have a family by blood again. I open my mouth to speak but notice Aiden is sound asleep. His arm lays on my waist. I snuggle up to him, feeling warm in his arms. 

Aiden will also have a family once again. Him, me, Luke, and the baby. I just hope nothing goes wrong with the pregnancy, maybe  that's why Luke and Aiden have been keeping me from working, they don't want anything bad to possibly happen to the baby. A baby will be another thing on my plate, but it'll give me something to do at night. 

Nothing usually happens at night due to how good a general Luke is, he maybe a fun loving guy but he is dedicated to his work. Aiden is good with the people. The people love him as a Pharaoh, they always tell me about what I great choice I made. From the day I became queen I told them to never lie to me, and tell me if they don't like something I was doing; if they didn't like their Pharaoh they would of told me. 

The only one who seemed to have a problem was Zeus, but that's expected of the man. He believes one should marry those of their status. Aiden has no status, until he married me of course. I never really cared for status but on occasion I have to bring it up if someone gets a little too out of line. If I had to explain to Zeus status didn't matter he would never understand it. 

I'll never let anyone talk down upon my child, not without me having a word in the matter. 

I feel a tap on the shoulder, startling me a little until I realize it's just Luke. "I have information on the vampires who were trying to get in earlier." Luke tells me, I slowly get up from my bed. 

Once Luke knows he has my attention he speaks. "I recognized one of the vampires as Alfred." Luke informs me; is Alfred trying to kill my child. I shiver at the thought. I was so happy about the baby I forgot the negatives. The baby will be targeted by so many of the dangers that lurk in our world. "He seemed upset, he called of his men." Luke continues.

"Be sure to be on stand by, we don't know if he'll return." I instruct him, he nods before walking out of my room. I really shouldn't think of the negatives, it'll only make me fear for the worst that hasn't even come yet.
