I decide on going to school today despite the fact I'm currently a ball of rage and determination. My day can't possibly get any worse than this. I think to myself as I lay my head on my desk, Aiden has a comforting hand on my back, assuring me everything will be alright.
"Class today we have a visitor! Mr. Orion Nektova!"
I spoke to soon.
I lift up my head, my eyes instantly making contact with Orion's dark brown eyes that almost appear to be black. "Do my eyes deceive me or is that Laura Librana." Orion says as if surprised and happy to see me. "You two know each other?" Mrs. Caloon asks as she looks back and forth from me to Orion.
"We are on opposing teams on a certain argument about Acaria." Orion tells her; I would of known if I had a secret lover! But I really can't say that, because explaining to a small minded bastard like him that I'm a ancient couple thousand year old goddess isn't something to be accomplished easily. "What argument?" Mrs. Caloon asks, which is going to start a fight between me and this idiot.
"I believe Acaria had a secret lover, and possibly a child." Orion explains to Mrs. Caloon.
"Yet you don't have Acaria's body, let alone the body of a baby royal to backup you're statement." I growl back at him.
"Neither do you."
Yes I do, I'm the living proof!
"We can say she hasn't had a child, that statement may or may not change in the future." Orion waves off my statement. He pulls out a large piece of rock out from his bag. But as I get a better view I realize it's not just any piece of rock.
It's the tablet.
"Right here ladies and gentlemen I have a stone tablet that was almost 40 feet below ground in sand." He carefully shows it out to the class. "Say miss Librana, I got word that you have all of these except this one; that you're quite eager to get you're hands on it." No, please don't do this to me Orion.
"But I'm afraid I can't let you have it, despite how generous a man I am."
You're no man, not even generous, you're just reminding me of how much of a failure a queen I was. I don't live up to the title of the Great Queen Acaria, that is the last thing I would ever be. "Please spare me the lies, I know you would never give it to me, plus I really don't need it that much anyway. I have all the important ones, that one is just a side piece that isn't needed." I try to play reverse psychology, and he seems to buy it quite well.
"You don't, do you? So if were to have it destroyed because it is worthless to anything considering Acaria you wouldn't be upset?" The wall of victory I had built up crumbles to the ground as quick as it was built, possibly faster. "You wouldn't dare Nektova." A smirk claims his lips as he exposes me. Crap! That was a test to see if I was play reverse psychology! And I failed like always.
Why can't I do anything right!
Flash Back
"Why can't I do anything right!" I hiss as I struggle to put together a puzzle to create the knife. Father comes and kneels by my side. "Acaria, you just need to take you're time, think carefully and don't be fooled the obstacles that are put forth before you." Father tells me as he puts together the wooden puzzle that forms a knife. "What do you mean, father?" I ask as I gaze up at him in amazement.
"You play the target or in this case the puzzle, don't let the puzzle play you."
Flash Back Ends
Instead of playing the target I let it play me. I can't let that happen again, not when my people depend on me.
"Mrs. Caloon I enjoyed being here today." Mrs. Caloon blushes and waves it off. "No, it was my pleasure to have someone like you and Laura here!" She cheers.
I wait outside for Logan to pick me up, this time Aiden is sitting next to which is something new. He usually sits over at the bench across from me, I guess this is a sign he's learning to trust me.
"Laura I'm sorry about the stone tablet thing, I don't know why it's important but it's important; and if I had the muscles I would have taught that Orion guy a lesson." Aiden comments as he throws weak punches in the air, as if imagining it's Orion. It brings a giggle out of me. Luke shows up happy as ever. I won't feed on him til I get my hands on some daylight water. "Sup!" He cheers as he pulls the us into a hug. Aiden giggles as he pushes his big brother away.
Suddenly I get a cold shiver down my spine. I get up and turn around.
There is a man in all black with piercing blue eyes that remind me of the sky. Behind the man there's vampires, lots of them. "These you're friends?" I ask Luke hoping his answer is yes, but him shaking his head shatters that hope.
"Sorry to intrude, but I would like to see the lovely lady."
My eyes go wide as I remember that voice; he's the guy from last night! AS i get a better look of his features my heart shatters into more pieces than ever. That face resembles Alfred, except this guy has black hair, and empty eyes that seem to continue forever without emotion.
"What is it my fair lady? Are you afraid of me?"
"Where is the love...the kindness..?" I say as if breathless. Alfred, what happened to you? "Sorry dear, but I've never felt love."
Liar...liar...liar..!
"Love is a mere emotion that I don't need, it weighs me down, but I wouldn't mind with you my dear." He says with a sly look on his face. No, Alfred wouldn't have done this t-this guy must be a impostor! There's only one way to find out.
"Look into my eyes!" I scream to the top of my lungs. Though startled he looks into my eyes, his own then widen.
"I thought you would be dead by now..."
He says with a cold tone of voice. Alfred was one of the few people who could see the pain in my eyes. Only Alfred would know this is the real me and not a impostor.
"Acaria Amnia Nile."
