*Y/n's POV*
I smooth my dress down as I look in the mirror.
"You look beautiful y/n" Crystal says as she hands me my phone.
"Thanks, I just wish Calum was here." It's my first album release party. He was supposed to be here ten minutes ago. I look down at my phone. No text.
"He still hasn't texted you?" Luke asks. I shake my head and sit on the couch. Trying not to ruin the makeup Sierra did for me.
"I went to your album party. Even if I didn't want to at the time. I still went. He doesn't even have a audacity to text me." I say. Michael leans over and hugs me.
"He'll come, even if I have track him down and drag him here."
"Whatever. I'm gonna call him." I stand and go into the hallway.
"Hey." He answers nonchalantly.
"Calum where the fuck are you!?" I say.
"At home...I told you I just don't want to be there"
"You could at least come support your girlfriend or you might not have one after tonight" I hang up and walk back in.
"Are you ok?" Ashton asks.
"I just wanna drink"

*Calums POV*
I needed an excuse to be late. I know I'm breaking her heart but I just want to surprise her by showing up and proposing to her. She wanted today to be special so I'm going to make it extra special. It's about an hour in. So I get into the car and get ready to leave.

*Y/N's POV*
It's about two hours in. I'm drunk as hell and Calum still isn't here. No surprise. I feel my phone vibrate so I pick it up. I hit answer and walk where it's quieter
"Mrs y/l/n?"
"Speaking"
"Your boyfriend has been in a terrible accident. He's at the hospital right now" my heart breaks. I know what I said was harsh but maybe he was on his way. My world is crumbling right before my eyes.
"Oh my god I'm on my way" I can't even see I'm crying so much. I search through the crowd for the boys. I find Luke first.
"Y/N what the fuck happened are you ok?" He asks running his hand along my face.
"Calum's been in an accident we need to go to the hospital." I cry out.
"Go to your room and grab what you need, change. I'll get everyone else." I nod and head to my room. I didn't bring many clothes. I didn't feel like changing. I sit on the couch and wait for Luke. Thoughts are racing around my head. What if he's dead? What if he's dead? What if he's dead?

"I'm here for Calum Hood" I say to the nurse. Her face falls. She guides us into a room off to the side and brings in the doctor.
"I'm so very sorry but Calum has died in the accident." I can't support my own weight anymore. Ashton catches me as I give out.
"Tell me everything that happened please minute by minute" I cry out on his arms.
"He came in, minute one. He wasn't breathing so we put in a tube, Minute two. He was bleeding very badly from his stomach and head, Minute 3. His heart stopped, minute four. We started CPR, minute 5. His heart started bleeding again, minute six. We took him for a scan, minute 7. By minute 8 his heart stoped beating again. By minute 11 we knew he was brain dead and his heart wouldn't start again. I'm very sorry y/n"
"NO NO HE CANT BE GONE NO" I cry into Ashton shoulder.
"We found this in his blazer pocket. When he came in he kept saying your name. He kept saying I want to marry her" Crystal gasps. I turn around to see the doctor holding a ring. Luke takes the ring into his hand and kneels down.
"Y/n I know I'm not Calum. But just pretend I am for two minutes. He loved you so so much. This meant the world to him he wanted to make tonight special. He was always coming. He wanted to ask you to marry him. Y/n, will you please marry Calum?" He's crying while talking. I nod and he slips the ring onto my finger. My fiancé didn't get to propose to me. Calum is dead. The biggest day of my career is now a day I will resent my whole life. The love of my life has left me for good.
