I was outside my California home, my dad is a big producer in Hollywood. I never really liked the fame I got but I got clothes and makeup all the time so I guess it has its perks. I started to work a little as an actor for my dad's wishes but I'd rather play basketball full time. It's the one thing I can count on. My dad is never home, and my mom isn't around anymore. I notice a boy about my age, tall, dark, handsome and walking my way. He has a small fluffy dog with him. He's looking at me. I instantly get butterflies. I go in for lay up but trip. The only thought that runs through my mind is "oh crap that cute cute boy just saw me rip my knee open" I roll over on the concrete driveway, onto my back.
"Are you ok?!" I hear him say in an Aussie accent.
"Crap" I mumble sitting up. He holds out his hand to help.
"Thanks, I'm okay" I look down at my knee and the blood dribbling down my leg.
"Can I help you?" He asks.
"Uhm can you just grab that bag?" I point to the backpack by the net.
"Yea here" he passes it.
"I'm Calum by the way"
"I'm y/n" I say getting out the first aid kit.
"You keep a kit in your bag?"
"I'm accident prone" I say laughing.
"Hey aren't you that producers daughter?"
"Ya sadly" I say standing up with his help.
"You don't like the fame?" He asks as I run down the driveway to grab the ball.
"Nope. It has its perks but"
"Ya I'm kinda over it myself"
"You're from that band right?" I ask coming back.
"Ya"
"You play basketball?" I ask.
"Love it" he responds.
"Well here tie this cutie over there and we can play" he ties his dog to the handle of the car and comes back over.
"Nice Jordan's" he says
"Thanks They're were free" I laugh bouncing him the ball.
"Well there's one perk"
"Ya except the bad stuff out weighs the good stuff"
"I can see that, it's like every time I go out in public someone is snapping photos"
"Or staring" I add as I jump to block his shot.
"And I can't have a relationship ever. They only approve the rich, prissy famous people not the ones who are down to earth" he tries to block me but I'm too good.
"And by They you mean the teenage girls who think they have a chance"
"Oh yea, I just wish I could live my life the way I want, ask out the girl who I find so incredibly amazing right now and I just want to get to know her better. The one who gets it" He stands in front of me with the ball, looking me in the eye.
"Shoot your shot dude, live like no one is watching" I say. He jumps and makes the shot.
"I think I just did" I realize what he's saying when he comes closer. He places his hand on my hip and leans forward.
"I don't normally kiss strangers but I'll make an exception" I say and close the gap between us.
"ARF" we look over and see his dog barking at us.
"I'm gonna finish his walk, text me." He hands me his phone and I put in my number and text myself"
"See ya" he walks away and I feel like something's missing. I grab the ball and head inside.
