Arya's POV
"I can't stop the fucking car right now Arya! Please just wait till we get home, it's not far." Shawn said, speeding up.
I usually hated it when he speeded up like that, but I was too furious to care at this point.
"Let me the fuck out Shawn!" I screamed at him.
"Babe, calm down." Shawn said reaching for my hand with his hand.
His touch just sent me straight to Hell.
"Let, me, the fuck, out!" I screamed and slapped him across his face.
The next thing that happened, happened so fast and I couldn't control anything.
He looked at me with the most confused look written over his face. This must've shocked him very much, because he kept driving even though the light was red. He just looked at me, still driving. And as he drove further into the crossing street, I saw the headlights of the trailer.
It was way to close to the Jeep and it came way too fast.
Everything happened so fast.
The truck hit the Jeep right on Shawn's door. The glass shuttered and Shawn was pushed in my direction. We never lost eye contact.
The glass was raining over both of us and the hit finally hit me. It was the most powerful hit I've ever taken and I was no longer in my right state of mind.
My head was spinning and my eyes were shut. There was no sound, just a high frequency rushing through my head.
It was like everything went in slow motion.
I slowly opened my eyes.
It wasn't just my head that was spinning. The car was flipping around.
Finally it stopped.
It was upside down and I was hanging in the seatbelt. I didn't notice any pain at the moment, and I was fully conscious. Well, as conscious as I could be after what just happened.
I slowly turned my head towards Shawn.
He was also hanging upside down in his seatbelt, but he wasn't moving. His hair hung still down from his head. Those beautiful brown curls that I loved so dearly was dripping with blood. His eyes was closed.
I didn't know what to do. My hearing slowly came back, and I heard sirens from far away. I was very sleepy, but I knew that I couldn't close my eyes. And I wouldn't. Not until I knew Shawn would be okay.
I lost track of time, but after a while there were firefighters there to get us out. They helped me first, but I kept pointing for them to help Shawn. I was put on a stretcher and checked out.
"Ma'am, can you hear me?" Said a woman. She was one of the paramedics.
"Yes."
"What is your name, ma'am?" She asked me.
"Arya, Arya Mendes." I said. And I loved how strong it sounded. I was so proud of my last name.
"Hallo Arya, can you tell me who you were driving with?" She asked as she put an oxygen mask over my face.
"Shawn, my husband, Shawn Mendes." I answered.
"Okay, thank you Arya. Stay with me." She said and then turned around and spoke to another paramedic. "The man is her husband, Shawn Mendes."
I reached my hand up to her arm to get her attention.
"I'm pregnant, please tell me my child will live." I begged her.
"Thank you for telling me, I will do what I can Arya. Stay with me."
"Is Shawn alright?" I asked.
"We will tell you as soon as we know, mrs Mendes." Said another paramedic. The first woman that talked to me walked away.
"No, don't go! What's your name?" I had to know her.
"Mary, mrs Mendes. Mary Garcia." She said and then disappeared.
I was rolled away on my stretcher and put into an ambulance. The car started up and drove away quickly. All I could think about was Shawn, was he okay? Were was he? Was he in another ambulance? Was he still in the Jeep? Did Mary help him?
I was awake the whole way and when we finally got to the hospital, I was checked out by several doctors. I had to stay at the hospital for the night at least, and maybe I could go home tomorrow.
I kept asking for Shawn, but no one either knew or would tell me. So I had to go to bed without knowing if Shawn was alive or not, or okay or not, I didn't know anything.
Right before I went to sleep I asked my nurse if Mary Garcia was available, and she said she'll make a call.
About 20 minutes later, Mary came into my room.
"Finally a face I've seen before! Mary, please tell me my husband is okay?" I practically begged her.
"It's not my job to tell you that. But I can tell you that he is here, in the hospital." She said with a reassuring smile.
"Can you come by tomorrow? I just have to have someone I feel I can talk to here." I asked her shyly.
"Of course, but is there anyone we should call? Family?"
"No it's okay, I can call them if you just give me a phone." I said.
"Sure, I don't actually do this, but you can borrow mine." She said and handed me her phone.
I dialed Karen's number.
K: hello, who is this?
A: Hey Karen it's me, Arya.
K: hi hunny, are you alright? It's getting late.
A: actually I'm not, Shawn and I were in a car crash, I'm fine, but I don't know about Shawn yet, but you guys might want to come down to the hospital.
K: oh my, Arya, I'm very glad you are okay. And we're on our way!
A: okay, I might be asleep, but see you soon.
Then I hung up and handed Mary her phone back.
"My family is coming, thank you so much Mary." I said and smiled at her as she left the room.
After a while I fell asleep. This day had been so nerve wrecking and I was exhausted. I think they put me on some sort of drug, because I just couldn't worry. I knew I was worried about Shawn and the baby, but my mind was just resting.
And so was my body the moment I fell asleep.
I'm so sorry for the long wait and I'm so sorry for this sad lil chapter haha hope you enjoyed it tho
