Chapter 23

Arya's POV

When I woke up, Shawn's arms were still around me and my face was still deep buried into his chest. I started to wiggle and he immediately woke up and loosened his grip around me.
"Hi" He said.
"Hey" I said back.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked carefully.

"Yes, okay, so what happened was that he wouldn't let me go, and I screamed in his face to let me go but he didn't. And then he said that he heard I was together with you, and he said fuck him and then he told me that I was still his. And I told him I weren't. And then he grabbed both of my hands. And then someone screamed to let me go and then punched him down. It was Khalid. He got me into his car and drove me here." I didn't notice that tears had been rolling down my face until Shawn wiped them away.

"I'm really sorry I left you alone last night, if I just hadn't left, you wouldn't have gone out and none of this would have happened." He said and looked down, his jaws were clenching and I saw the self anger build up in him.
I reach out and stroke his cheek.

"It's not your fault, stop beating yourself up about things that happens to me. It's not your fault." I said in a pleading way.
He looked up at me and a single tear rolled down his cheek.

"No, don't you dare cry Shawn, this is not your fault!" I said, my voice breaking.

"No, it's just that I've put you through so much pain and hurt in less than a year and I'm so deeply sorry." He said, and the tears kept on rolling down his face.

"Yeah, but you keep forgetting all the things I've experienced since I met you. I got a record deal, and not to mention a boyfriend! And we just had the three best months of my life together! If you think that isn't worth the hurt, you're wrong. Because those times when we're happy, is some of the best times of my life. And don't tell me otherwise." I said, meaning in every word.

"Okay, okay good. I love you Arya, and I'm so sorry." He said kissing me.

"Stop saying sorry Shawn." I said with a stern look.

"Sorry- oh shit sorry I- fuck I say sorry way too much!" He said and laughed, and I joined him and laughed as well.

"Well, we can't lay here all day, and I need to go Christmas shopping, because this year I got a whole new family that I have to give some gifts so left go, lazyass!" I said and ran to the bathroom.

I changed into some jeans and one of Shawn's sweatshirts that was here in his apartment. It was so weird to be back in the cold Canada winter, after being on Malta for three months. I wrapped myself up in a big jacket and whooped Shawn's ass and we got out.

The Christmas spirit was all over Toronto and I came into the mood so quickly. And I was so excited for it, I loved Christmas!

For Sierra, I bought a brand new iPhone X from Shawn and I. We talked to Karen and Manny so we didn't buy the same things and they got her the matching Apple Watch. For Aaliyah, I got her a Calvin Klein underwear set, and a Calvin Klein sweatshirt. Shawn wouldn't tell me what he got her, but oh well.
For Karen, I got a pearl necklace. My mum always said that every woman should get one pearl necklace for a Christmas once in her life. And for Manny I got him the newest iPad. In Shawn's family they usually didn't give presents from the kids to the parents, but I didn't care, I wanted to give them something.

And for Shawn... I got him something special.

We finished the shopping and went home.

We decided to wait with the move-in till after Christmas, it was so much going on right now and we wanted not to stress with it, but I still stayed with him everyday. The weeks went by and I hadn't slept alone in my own apartment. I didn't tell Shawn and I probably denied it myself, but I was a little afraid of being alone. You never know when or who might knock on your door.

Now it was Christmas Eve, and Shawn and I came out to Pickering to celebrate. We were staying the night too.
The whole meal and evening was amazing and I couldn't remember the last big family Christmas Sierra and I had attended to.
I was so happy for her and she was really happy here. She told me all about her new school, which was where Shawn and Aaliyah went, and all her new friends and she even told me about this guy she liked. She was really blooming out here.

The night came and Shawn and I went to his old room, where we would sleep. I laid down in his bed and watch him undress. He soon joined me in bed and held around me like he does every night.

"I love you." He said.

"I love you too. And thank you for this amazing Christmas, it's the best one so far." I said and drifted off to sleep.

Christmas morning!
I jumped up and woke Shawn, he just chuckled at my childishness and laughed at me all the way down to the living room. Sierra and Aaliyah was already up and Karen and Manny soon joined us too. I saw how the girls drooled over the presents, and to be honest, I did too.

"Okay time for presents!" Karen said and all the girls squealed.

Karen lifted up the first present she could find under the tree and it was the one to Sierra from me. She looked at me like she was asking for my permission to give it. I nodded.
