The key rattled in the door as she turned to unlock it, and suddenly Sebastian felt his hands tense up. He bit his bottom lip, trying to calm his nerves as the door opened. "Mum!" Dana called into the hallway. Before long, footsteps could be heard down the corridor and a woman peered around the corner. She was only a couple of inches shorter than her daughter, bearing an uncanny resemblance to her. But different eyes. Whilst Dana's where a light Hazel, her mother's were a deep brown, as were Harrison's.

"You must be the Sebastian we've heard so much about!" She beamed at him, and he was unable to hold back his own smile. "My, you were right when you said he was gorgeous." She murmured, after hugging him tightly. To say he was surprised would've been an understatement. "Mum!" Dana closed her eyes, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment. "It's lovely to meet you Mrs Piper," he made sure to use the correct surname. Dana has taken her maiden name despite the marriage between her mother and stepfather.

"Please, call me Ellen." She insisted. "You're definitely not one of my students." Oh yes, she was a primary school teacher. "Jamie's at the clinic right now, he'll be back around eight thirty." She looked at her watch as she lead them into the front room. Jamie was a GP, or whatever Dana had told him, he was essentially a doctor. "Would you like a drink? Tea? Coffee? Harrison makes a good latte," Ellen pointed back to the kitchen. Harry rolled his eyes, having just sat down.

Sebastian smiled, "No, I'm fine thank you. I had one at the airport, and that was probably more than enough caffeine for me." He said nervously, noticing his own rambling. His palms felt warm as he sat in the sofa that was offered to him. Dana sat by his side as her mother wandered off into the kitchen. Her head fell against his shoulder, as their hands intertwined together. "Aren't you two just the sweetest?" Her mother came back in and joined Harry on the other couch. "So, Sebastian, tell me about yourself." She sat forward, a bright smile on her face.

"There's really not much to me. I moved to the US when I was twelve, grew up loving acting and wound up living that lifestyle." He squeezed Dana's hand softly, more for his own comfort than anything else. "But what is it like? Don't you have to go away for months at a time?" Ellen asked, curiously getting the better of her. "Mum," Dana stressed, "this isn't an interview." She looked at her mother, urging her to stop with the questions. "I'm sorry! I just want to get to know my daughters boyfriend." She grinned, clearly not sorry at all. "He's not my-whatever. Seb, should we take your stuff upstairs?" Dana stood, desperation in her eyes, as she wordlessly begged him to follow. Nodding, he stood, muttering quiet apologies to his host.

As soon as they'd reached Harry's room, Dana put what she was carrying on the floor and sat down on the bed, putting her head in her hands and sighing in what seemed to be relief. "I'm really sorry," she mumbled, Sebastian sat next to her and rested a hand on her thigh. "It's fine, don't worry about it. Your family are sweet." He smiled gently, looking at her expression. "Everyone is calling us boyfriend and girlfriend you know." She looked back at him. "I've noticed. Everyone except us." He continued her point.

A few seconds of silence went by before Dana spoke up. "What if we did?" She suggested.
"It wouldn't change anything."
"It's not like, too soon..."
"Yeah, because all relationships are different, right?"
"Right. So all that would happen is-"
"Is we'd be calling ourselves that too,"
"Right."
"... Right."
They fell back into silence, both completely aware that they'd just officially changed their relationship statuses. "Good." Sebastian exhaled, a smile forming on his lips.
