"It's just us?"
They are approaching my position and I can hear them talking.

She nodded to her cousin with a blank expression, her ambiance is really cold today, and it starts to scare me already. It's very rare, actually, this is the first time. Even though the days she's so exhausted, she won't let a minute to be sweet or to cling on me. But today has that unfamiliar vibe.

"Two surgeons, three med techs, eight nurses, one for the rest specializations except pedia. Lisa should be included but I should ask her first, her ankle is still not fine, right?"
They stopped walking inches away from me and they are still talking.

"Okay. How many days do we have to stay there?"
I was startled when Jimin asked that question, I don't know what they are talking about but iy feels like I won't like it.

"Thirty days, if things are still not fine after thirty days we have to stay more. Well for you, less, cause you'll come after a few days it'll start, right?"
My brows furrowed as I try to comprehend things...

He nodded and sighed heavily before giving me a look making Chaeyoung stare at me as well.

"Is your meeting over?"
I mustered a smile and asked.

She just nodded and shut her eyes for some seconds.

"You look tired. Go home. I'll go to Lisa first."
He commented and suggested with a serious tone of voice.

He must like Lisa.
I'm not dense, not dumb.
I know that he's indirectly throwing shades on me for being kind and helpful towards the woman. And I'm not also blind not to see how Lisa is uncomfortable with all our presence there with her.

"I said I will go back to her."
Chaeyoung responded.

"I'll just tell her everything and you still have tomorrow to visit her anyway. You have to go get a proper resr for yourself first, the job isn't easy."
Jimin replied with the same kind of expression and Chaeyoung just sighed before nodding in agreement.

"Tell her I'll just message her."
Then that was the last words and the both of them waved at each other as Jimin took the path out first.

"I'll drive you home."
She already took a step forward when I stated it and she halted and finally recognized my existence with her.

"Mm, okay."
She just hummed and responded a single word before walking on her own.

Cold, she's literally acting cold. Perhaps she's so tired again, and it worries me. The moment she collapsed traumatized me and I dom't want it to happen again, that'll kill me in worry to.

I opened the door of the car and made sure for her head not to bump on it before riding the driver's seat. I remained quiet but I take quick glances.

I turned the engine in and stepped on the gas, I drive in a normal speed and still, though I'm driving, I will make time to take a look on her. I kept monitoring her until that moment she caught me observing her.

I removed my eyes and breathed in, trying to compose myself properly as I suddenly felt startled with how she looked at me. At the side of my eyes, I can see that she's still looking at me...

But after about two seconds, without any words, she tilted her head and looked back in front. That's when I took another glance before speaking...

"Hey?"
One word to catch her attention.

"Are you okay?"
One question to make sure of her condition.

She heaved and relaxed her body.

"Yeah, just a bit tired."
She answered what I have predicted.

"Is that why you're quiet, my baby?"
Sweetly concerned, I asked and gave her a worried look.

I saw she stared at me for some seconds, like she's thinking about something, doubting about a thing I am not aware of.

"Why? Baby? Are you really fine?"
I asked and lifted my hands from the gear to caress her one that is placed above her lap.

"I'm just..."
She sighed and bowed her head without finishing her words.

"Okay, it's okay. Take a rest first, let's talk once we reached home."
Not more than ten minutes and we reached her house.

"Alright."
I let her enter first as I opened the door.

Once I have closed the door, I immediately looked at her as she took the way up to her room with her eyes n mine, signaling me to follow which I did with no complains or any hesitations even though it bothers me inside.

I stopped taking steps in front of her open door and looked at her, asking for permission if I could go in or she'll change clothes first and she nod her head once, telling me it's fine.

I walked in and my eyes didn't go anywhere but only on her pair. She looks worried but also coldness is surrounding her appearance. The weird ambiance I've felt earlier is sill lingering around but I can see how her eyes are not sparking anymore.

"Baby?"
So I initiated the conversation.

She slowly sat on the side of her bed and sighed heavily. I decided to crouch in front of her to reach her level and to make sure I'm close enough to make her feel comfortable and that my warmth may replace her coldness.

"Have I done something? Why are we like this, Baby?"
As far as I know, I did nothing bad or something that may upset her but just in case, I asked.

She looked at me...
And for the second time, I felt frightened by the way she looked at me. It's visible on her, she's contemplating and thinking about something she don't want to share with me by the moment. I wanted to ask but then...

My mind shut, my body froze, a stone got stuck on my throat, my eyes stared at hers blankly, I shivered, I felt goosebumps and my mouth didn't utter anything...

That moment she bowed her head and unexpected words came from her mouth with her deep voice I usually don't hear when she's fine...

"I'll be gone for a month or more."
