We were now finished eating when I noticed that the woman with ocean-blue hair and demon hunter gears disappeared.

"A-ano, did anyone see th-the other girl?
Sh-she hasn't eaten yet r-right? " I stammered and they looked at me.

"Yeah, haven't seen Karina all day, what do you think Harith? " Akai asked the little Leonin beside him who's busy taking out the pieces of food from his teeth with a toothpick.

"What? Her? Must be in some kind of trouble. I dunno but who cares anyway?" he carelessly spoke and I just sighed. He threw away his toothpick and then hugged my legs. Kawaii!!

"Don't worry about it, atleast you can replace her. " he pouted and I leaned down on his height.

"Th-that's rude, Harith-kun. You shouldn't say such a thing, maybe she's just doing...
S-something " I said, trying to stop his badmouthing.

"Heh, yeah something provoking. " he babbled and I gasped. I took a hold of his ears and pulled them a little bit.

"Aww... Harith-san, p-please don't say those th-things. " I said and then he pouted.

"F-fine, sorry about that. " he said and I stood up from my position than petted his head, he purred. Always works.

After I let go of him, he ran towards Akai and signalled him to sit. The panda just nodded and Harith climbed on his back.

"Kagura-chan, we'll be back before lunch, Akai and I are going to the park again, we'll let you know if we see Karina. Byeee! " Harith baid and left with Akai without another word.

"B-but, the dishes---N-nandemonai (Nothing). Nevermind." I said and went back to work. Atleast I can have some time to rest.

I was washing the plates when the glass from the counter fell down and shattered on the floor. After hearing the sound, I bursted into tears.

I remembered the deaths of all the people I cared for, from Lolita, Hasuna-san and Takeru-kun? Who will come next? I don't want to know!

I've had enough and I can't see anyone suffer anymore, everyone I'm close with would always die, I can't hold it in! I'm a failure, a mess, a loser and a fragile girl.

I didn't want to cry but somehow, I can't control the tears that leave me, I'm scared, nervous, afraid, melancholic and broken but I'm fine... I'm fine.

I was sniffing and sobbing, unable to utter a single word but then the sound of the main door opening made me shake...

"You... " a deep, dark, stoic and cold voice woke me up from my trance. "Wipe that snot off your face, it's... Disgraceful. " he said and I looked at the direction of the man who I'm afraid of the most.

I only looked at him and didn't say anything else but I just fell on the ground, covering my lips with my hands. I can't stop myself from crying and making a fun of myself.

Before I could say anything, I heard him walking towards me and in a flash of light...

He hugged me...

Yes, the cold and stoic demon hunter hugged me and I didn't know the reason why.

"Don't think of this as any sign of affection but I'm just going to pay you back for the warmth. " he said monotonely, I felt heat enveloping my body and my eyes closed while taking in some of his body temperature or mine.

"Alright... That's enough. " he calmly stated and I let go of him, a tint of red could be seen on my cheeks and I was too shy to look at his face, nit wanting to meet his gaze.
