Chapter 56: Awakening pt. 2

[Third-Person's POV]

The noble Elven king smirked at the enraged monster in front of him.

He never knew that the Onmyouji Master could inflict such strong emotions and passion to anyone who held her dear and this semi-demon standing his ground a few meters from him holds the helpless mage precious the most.

"Ha... Haha... HAHAHAHAHA! " the king laughed maniacally at the approaching demon hunter who inched closer towards him.

"You? You foolish demon think you can save her from her fate? She's a person of prophecy, she's born for this reason. She's born to be sacrificial!" Estes continued on laughing hysterically while the silhouette walked sluggishly, his crimson pitch-black eyes suddenly glowing brighter and brighter.

"SHUT UP! " exclaimed the figure who soon revealed himself. His pale blonde hair shining from the red lighting of the atmosphere, bruised cheeks, bleeding pale lips, clothes almost tattered and his cloak hanging loosely from his shoulders.

You could see the deep burning rage in his once navy eyes, turning dark crimson.

The demon hunter moved like lightning but Estes' eyes were fast enough to counter his movements.

Their swords clashed on each other. The sound of metal echoing on both ears. The Elven broke the contact of their weapons at the same time making distance from him.

"Is that all you've got? " the elf mocked causing the child of the fall to burn up with rage he seemed to teleport on the king's back but he kicked Alucard's knees causing the competitor to lose his balance yet was quick to gain composure.

"Weak, weak, weak. If this goes on longer, your loved ones mind will be rebooted and she'll get hurt in the process. I'm just kind enough to have the hourglass use minimum power. " he smirked causing the demon hunter to look at the caged dove.

She was helpless, banging on the glass with all her might but she can't seem to do so without her magic. The magic Estes has sealed to minimize the problems he's having.

The sand slowly dropped on the glass but it was more dillydally than expected. Each drop felt like forever yet she knows it wasn't going to do so. Since nothing would last so long. Nothing lasts forever.

If only she had her parasol, she could easily break through without any effort but she doesn't have it right now.

All she could do was think of a plan to escape and help her companion for she knows that a king's power is far more superior when fighting on his own ground, taking the other ruler only a few percentage of victory.

She needed to think deep, hard and fast. She doesn't want to lose another life just for her powerless state.

For once, she wanted to be foolish. Foolish and the most selfless she could be to save the person she cared for the most.

The dawn's monster, the demon's child, the mistake his parents made.

This time, she wanted to be the one to stand up for him and not wait for rescue.

She can do it. She knows she can.

[Harith's POV]

"Damn this! " Kimmy cursed as a wave if archers appeared in front of them.

"What now? The fuck?! " Hayabusa swore and kept his guard, katana in front ready to slice off the heads of enemies.

"Well, well, well. Who do we have here? " a venomous voice spoke out from the shadows. Soon the ex-member of our group came out.
