Chapter 55: Awakening

[Kagura's POV]

Bells continued on clinging while chimes were blown slowly by the wind creating a beautiful yet sinister melody.

I looked at myself on the mirror. I looked like a different person with makeup and a wedding gown. I closed my eyes while inhaling and exhaling to relieve myself from my tears.

I didn't want this.

The kingdom has became more noisier this day. It's probably because of the wedding that I never wished for.

I inhaled and exhaled deeply to stuff inside my frustration. I have lost lots of people already and now I'm doing something I wouldn't want to do.

I'm hopeless and weak yet why do I still get so apologetic to anything? Don't cry, Kagura. You can do this, just after all these things, you'll forget everything and start a new beginning in your life.

"Ms. Kagura. It's time... " the butler came in to tell me about the wedding and I nodded with a smile.

He closed the door as I stood from the chair I was sitting on. I fixed my veil which was covering my glimmering eyes, tears threatening to fall.

I prepared myself as I could here expensive sandals tap faintly on the floor. I opened the velvet coloured entrance and braced myself for the next things that might happen.

"Let's go to the main hall, shall we... Dear? " I met a few maids on the corridors and I stayed as positive as I could.

"Yes... Yes please. "

[Alucard's POV]

(A/N: I know that some might've gotten annoyed of Alucard's disappearance but I assure you, he's not gonna give up easily)

"Hey, don't sleep will you? If you do, you'll get yourself punished again. " I heard the guards talk and I listened eagerly.

"Huh? W-what? " the now awakened soldier rubbed his eyes and steadied his position.

"What an idiot, sleeping at an urgent time again. We have to protect the entrance to the main hall, the wedding is held there and with the news of the demon hunter escaping won't make it easy, he might be lurking around somewhere. " the guards continued talking as I held on my demonic sword tightly yet I suddenly lost balance but soon regained my composure.

"Who's there? " I heard one of the securities yell at my direction.

"Fuck... " I cursed myself and readied my weapon in hand. I could hear heavy footsteps  coming towards me and soon I could feel their breath in front of me.

*SLAAAASH*

With one swift movement, I sliced the soldier in half.

"What the—" before another one of them could finish his words, I charged at him and took his life with one effortless spinning wheel.

"Damn, call for reinforce—" I didn't let the others speak as I jumped at him and then stabbed him with my sword, aiming for the head.

Another one ran towards me after hearing the ruckus. He was behind me so I elbowed his stomach which knocked him off on the ground while slashing off his head in the process.

Blood splattered themselves on me but they soon quickly dissolved, earning a few points of lifesteal.

"Dieeee! " I sensed someone run up to me and the world began to slow down. I licked the blood from my sword and my path moved like lightning.
