Chapter 61

PN was decorated very beautifully for the sangeet of Sheena and Kabir. Everyone was ready for the function. Sheena herself was dressed in a beautiful lehnga choli and Kabir was dressed in a matching rust kurta. Sheena and Kiran's friends had arrived and loud music was playing.

Thapki was sitting very silently in one corner. She was having a severe headache. Either it was from the loud music or from crying the whole night. She saw Dadi coming towards her. To hide her emotions from Dadi, she faked a smile. Dadi came and sat in the chair next to her.

Dadi: "Where is Bihaan and y r u sitting here all alone? Go and mingle with the young lot"

Thapki: "Don't know abt Bihaan as he left last night and....."

Dadi: "Ya I saw him leaving the house last night but he told me that he will be back by tonight. He should have returned by now"

Thapki looked at Dadi's face to see if she had any idea abt wat happened between them last night but she only found worry which made her worry more and her eyes instantly turned wet. She did not tell Dadi that she had been trying to call Bihaan but his number was switched off and his cell being switched off after wat happened between the two was not a gud sign.

Dadi noticed her tears so she hugged her and started comforting her.

Dadi: "Wat's worrying u my dear?"

Thapki: "Nothing is right Dadi... All this... Sheena and..... I don't know Dadi but some thing bad is going to happen"

Dadi: "Don't say so my child. U r worrying urself for nthg"

Thapki in her heart knew that sthg was not right. She could feel the negative vibes and the only person she could trust was not here to help her.

Dadi noticed the look on Thapki's face. She made a silent prayer for Thapki and Bihaan. Last night before leaving, Bihaan had come to Dadi's room. He asked her to take care of Thapki for one day. When asked he told Dadi that he was leaving to get sthg done and that everything will be clear after one day. Dadi wanted to ask more but the look on his face made her stop from talking more. She had full faith in him that he will not do anything that will damage his relationship with Thapki.

Shradha lately had been noticing the change in Dhruv's behavior. He did not seem to be in his senses lately. He was spending most of his time away from home and when asked he would give the excuse of some new business. Tonight also he came home looking drunk. Shradha decided to talk to him abt it after the Sangeet function but she lost her cool when she noticed him flirting with one of Sheena's friend. She held him by his arm and walked him out of the main hall.

Shradha: "Wat r u doing Dhruv?"

Dhruv: "Wat do u mean by that? And y u brought me here like that?"

Shradha: "I brought u here coz u were flirting with that girl"

Dhruv: "Oh come on and don't be ridiculous. Since when I am not allowed to talk to any body pretty or smart?"

Shradha: "Stop it Dhruv. U know wat u were doing. Plus I m not pretty and am out of shape coz I m carrying ur child"

Dhruv: "Which I asked u to abort but u did not listen. Now don't try to change my life style for ur own fault. I did not want to be a father this soon but u wanted to impress my mother with a grand child so u did not care. But be very clear that I am not going to stay at home, taking care of u and to wipe ur face after ur morning sickness. Ask Maa to do that as this grand child will be for her happiness. Let me live my life"

Shradha though knowing Dhruv's nature still got hurt by his words. But her hurt changed into anger when she noticed Dhruv's lustful eyes on Thapki who was just coming out of the hall. She knew that Sheena's friends will leave after marriage but Thapki was here to stay and she needed to get that fixed.

Shradha: "Now u will say Thapki is better than me"

Dhruv: "Oh yes Thapki is much better than u. I wish I have married her. At least she lets Bihaan have his own space and do not try to overpower him like u do to me"

Saying this Dhruv left missing the evil smile that had appeared on her lips.

Vasu was sitting in her room when Shradha entered teary eyed. Vasu who was lost in her thoughts looked at her sad face and quickly walked towards her.

Vasu: "Wat happened Shradha? Y r u crying?"

Shradha: "She will break my home. She will break my marriage"

Vasu: "Who? Who r u talking about?"

Shradha: "Thapki!"

Vasu: "Thapki? Y? How?"

Shradha: "She wants to steal my Dhruv. The way she tries to steal his attention by being around all the time and..."

Vasu: "Non sense. Wat r u talking abt?"

Instead of replying Shradha played the audio clip of Dhruv that she has recorded in her cell phone where Dhruv was calling Thapki better than Shradha and wishing to have married her. The expression on Vasu's face changed into an angry one. After accidently hearing Sheena's plan she had been indecisive whether to let her do wat she planned to do but now it was easy for her to decide Thapki's faith i.e. she had to leave PN and that too tonight.

Thapki was sitting in the kitchen when Kabir walked in. She looked pale.

Kabir: "R u alright Thapki? U look so pale"

Thapki: "I am fine. Just feeling a lil weak"

Kabir (worried): "U must go and take rest"

Thapki: "Do u know where Bihaan is?"

Kabir: "No. I don't have any idea"

Thapki noticed the hesitation in Kabir's voice. She stood up and walked towards Kabir.

Thapki: "Please if u know sthg then do lemme know. I want to c him"

Kabir: "I told u na I have no idea"

Tears started flowing down her face and she closed her eyes and started crying. She felt so weak that she was abt to fall but Kabir held her by her arms and made her stand. Vasu then waked in and saw the two together.

Vasu: "Wat is happening here? Thapki wat r u doing and y r u crying?"

Thapki: "I was just asking Kabir abt Bihaan"

Vasu: "He is ur husband and u should know abt his whereabouts. If u stop indulging into other activities then u will not have to ask others abt him"

Saying this she left the kitchen. Thapki with a broken heart also left the kitchen and walked towards Dadi's room.

Dadi was not in her room and Thapki did not have any more energy left. She decided to lie down in Dadi's bed and have some rest. Due to the weakness she quickly dozed off into sleep.

In her dream she saw herself lying in a beautiful bed of roses wearing a very beautiful dress. The bed was surrounded by trees and grass. She in her lying position started playing with the small flowers in the grass. After a while she heard some footsteps approaching her. She knew it was Bihaan coming. She recognised the sound of his steps. She opened her eyes and saw Bihaan holding a beautiful bouquet of roses. He handed the bouquet to her and kissed her forehead. His lips did not leave her skin and moved from there towards her neck leaving a trail of soft kisses. She had her eyes closed and could only feel him through his touches. His hands cupped her face and then her shoulder and when the reached her waist, he suddenly stopped. She opened her eyes and saw a horrified expression on his face. He quickly moved away saying "Wat was I abt to do? This may be wrong.... I should not have.... I am sorry Thapki" and with that he left. Thapki tried to run after him to stop him from leaving but she stepped on the thorns from the flowers he had brought her and her feet started bleeding. She was unable to take even a single step. She screamed Bihaan and this woke her up. She looked around and realised that this was just a dream or may be not as this was wat actually happened last night. They were so close and intimate last night but he quickly left saying the exact same lines. She put her head on the pillow calling Bihaan's name and wondering where he was.

Sheena had been worried abt Vasu the whole time. Vasu had head her plan and had not talked to her since then. She did not know how she will react. But at the time of dinner when everyone was busy in eating, Vasu came and sat next to her.

Vasu: "I did not know that u were this crazy abt marrying Bihaan or I would have asked him to marry u earlier but now when I know ur feelings for him and the fact that Thapki is not the right choice for him or this house, I give u the permission to do watever u want to get rid of Thapki. I do not want her in this house any more. But I also do not want to c Bihaan hurt. Some where in my heart, I still love him though he has hurt me many times but I hope that u being in his life will change him completely"

Sheena who had been worried abt Vasu's eaction could not hide her happiness and happily hugged her. Now no one could stop her from getting wat she have been wanting from the day she had seen him. Bihaan!

Thapki was still in the bed when she got a text msg. She looked at her mobile phone's screen and Bihaan's name was flashed on it. She quickly opened the message.

"Do come to the guest room without telling anybody. I am waiting for u there and I need to talk to u"

Without wasting a single second, she walked out of the room. Dadi who was lying next to her did not even get a chance to ask her anything.

Thapki walked into the hall and noticed that the function was already over. All the lights were off and there was nobody around. She walked into the dimly lit guest room. As soon as she walked in, somebody locked the door from outside.

Everyone in PN woke up from the loud voice of someone. Not knowing wat was happening, they walked into the main hall. Sheena was standing there crying and screaming.

Vasu: "Wat happened Sheena? Y r u crying like this?"

Sheena: "I have been fooled, disrespected and cheated"

Shradha: "Wat happened dear? Who cheated u? Where r Kabir and Thapki?"

Bau Ji looked around.

Bau Ji: "Bihaan is also not here"

Sheena: "She had been taking the benefit of that only"

Bau Ji: "Who had been taking the benefit of wat?"

Sheena: "Thapki who else. I saw Thapki and Kabir walking into that room arms into arms"

Bau Ji: "Shut up. Do u even know wat u r saying?"

Vasu: "She must have seen sthg so that's y she is saying so"

Bau Ji: "Wat rubbish"

Sheena: "I knew u will not believe me and that is y I locked the door so that u could see for urself"

She quickly walked towards the door and opened it. Everyone saw Thapki standing in the door with tears flowing down her face.

Sheena: "Now c for urself that ur respectful bahu is in someone else's bedroom at this hour. She turned her face towards Bau Ji and continued acting.

Sheena: "Ur bahu has ruined my life. She has snatched my love from me. Wat will u say now? Y r u being so quiet? Isn't this ur most fav bahu?"

Thre was a very shocking and painful expression on Bau Ji's face.She walked towards Dadi and continued.

Sheena: "Who will marry me now? A girl whose marriage is broken just one day before her Vidaai. U ppl will not tell the world the reason to save ur face but wat abt me"

She stared crying. It was Bihaan's voice that broke the silence.

Bihaan: "U shameful lady... U did not even think once before doing all this"

Sheena turned back and noticed Bihaan standing in the middle of the hall. Sheena walked towards him and stood right in front of him.

Sheena: "Thank God Bihaan that u have returned. This Thapki had been cheating on u and me with Kabir. U must punish her badly for ruining ur and my life"

Bihaan looked at Thapki who had been standing there as if she was dead. He turned towards Sheena.

Bihaan: "I had been seeing it all... Noticing the change.... Feeling the cheat... U r right... I will punish the culprit for all this... For playing with my life, my respect and my child"

And he ended his sentence by slapping Sheena so hard that she lost her balance and hit the floor.
