Helping Emma

Chapter 12

The afternoon had gone by quickly. They all just mostly sat around talking and telling stories. Now they are all sitting at the dinning room table eating a delicious spaghetti dinner with meatballs and spicy sausages. Emma couldn't get over how good it was. She ate two plates full plus a few pieces of garlic bread. Regina was so happy to see that Emma was comfortable enough to help herself to more than just her first plate. She remembers back to the first time Emma had eaten here, how she would barely talk and would never have helped herself to more. She's so proud of how far she has come in such a short time.  Emma looks over at Regina and puts her hand on top Regina's. "Are you ok babe?"  Regina is taken out of her thoughts. "I'm sorry what dear?"  "I asked if you were ok, you mother has been trying to get your attention". "Oh mother. I'm so sorry. I was just letting my mind wander".  "It's quite alright dear. I just asked how work was going here on the farm?"  "Oh. It's been wonderful. We've been very busy this summer. Lots of riding lessons and we've taken in a lot of abandoned animals. We were able to sell a few to the cattle farm down the road and we sold a few cows to the dairy farm on the other side of town. And Emma here came up with a wonderful idea that we are still trying to work out, but it's basically putting in a petting zoo type of area. We've also been thinking about putting in a little ice cream stand and a little country store. We have more than enough cows so we can definitely make ice cream or butter, we have chickens so we could sell eggs".  Regina's parents had big smiles on their faces. "Wow. That is so wonderful to hear". Said Regina's mother Cora. Then her father asked. "I know there is a lot of land here, but is there enough room for all the different equipment and storage for the animals? It could be tight quarters".  "That's what we still need to work on daddy. We do believe we could use a little more room, and I've heard that the Brady family next door is thinking of selling their house. I was thinking, we could buy that and use the land and we could transform the house a bit. It's a ranch style home so it could work out perfectly".   "It's nice to see you all are putting a lot of thought into this. I trust you will make the right decisions for our family Regina". She has a big smile on her face. "Thank you Daddy". The next day was Zelena's birthday. It wasn't a huge party, just Regina's parents and those that lived in the house. Alice made Zelena's favorite dinner which was sushi rolls. There was only a few in the house that like sushi, so Alice also made a nice chicken teriyaki stir fry over basmati rice. Which both Emma and Regina enjoyed. Regina even helped herself to a second plate.  Emma was surprised, because she had never seen Regina have more than one plate. "You hungry today babe?"  Emma asked. Regina had a blank face. "Why do you ask?  Do you think I'm getting fat Emma?" Regina asks quietly, but with a little attitude to go along with it. "No baby, not at all. It's nice to see you enjoying yourself. That's all. I love you I'd never say anything that would hurt you. I'm really sorry". Emma feels so bad that she hurt Regina's feelings. She really want to run and hide. This is something else that she still has to work on, but not right now. She needs to find the right time to make a quick exit to leave to her upstairs apartment. When dinner is over they all move to the living room to have some cake and give Zelena her gifts. Emma was first. "Here Z, would you mind opening my gift first. I think I ate to much and now I have such a stomachache. I need to go lay down". Zelena opens the gift box and in it had a very cute wicked witch statue with the flying monkeys on her shoulder. Zelena couldn't help but laugh. "I haven't known you long Z, but I have noticed how much you love those darn flying monkeys and that green lady. So when I saw this I had to get it for you". Zelena gives her a hug. "Thank you so much Emma. I absolutely love this, and unless someone gave me a brand new Mercedes-Benz, this may be my best gift this year".  Everyone had a good laugh at that. Then Emma quickly made her escape without even saying anything to Regina, which in all honesty pissed Regina off, and she was definitely going to let Emma know later. When Emma made it up to apartment her eyes filled with tears. She hated this about herself. She was never this emotional before her abduction, but she couldn't hold back the tears from making the woman she loved upset with her. It was only 7:30 but she got undressed, she kept her boxers on and put on her Boston Red Sox t-shirt and got into bed and she soon cried herself to sleep. It was a few hours later when Regina had come into the apartment and slammed the door. "Wake the hell up Emma Swan. We need to talk". The loud bang of the door and anger in the voice had startled Emma and scared her so badly that she fell out of bed and scrabbled into the nearest corner and she wet herself. She rocked back and forth crying out. "No please not again. Please don't hurt me again. I'm sorry. I'll do whatever you want". Regina couldn't believe that she just scared her girlfriend so much. She wasn't thinking what an angry voice or a loud noise might do to Emma. She slowly walked over and sat by her side. "Emma my love it's me. It's Regina. I'm so sorry I scared you. I wasn't thinking. Please tell me you are ok". Regina reaches out and touches Emma's shoulder and Emma cries out "No please. Not again". Regina felt how badly she was shaking. "Emma your ok. It's me Regina. I'm not going to hurt you. I love you sweetheart. Your safe. Please Emma come back". There is silence for a few moments and Emma says. "Regina?"  "Yes sweetheart. I'm right here. I'm so sorry I scared you. I wasn't thinking. I'm so sorry". "Regina. Can I be alone please?"  "Emma. Please let me help you".  "I just need a few minutes Regina please. I need to go take a shower". Regina is confused. "Why do you need to shower my love? You took one before dinner".  "I'm to embarrassed to tell you".  "Emma all this was my fault. I just want yo help if I can".  "Regina I fucking pissed myself ok. Now please leave so I can take a shower and not look like an 4 year old in front or you".  Emma has some anger in her voice as she spoke. Regina doesn't want to go, but it'll do no good to try and stay. "Ok sweetheart. I'll go and I'll come back in a little while. Ok?"  "Ya, fine". Regina gets up, and instead of walking down the inside stairs she goes out the back door and sits to wait till Emma is done with her shower.
