Centuries ago, multiple clans were created. As time passed, clans were overthrown and some completely annihilated. To the this day there are about eight clans left. The top two clans at the moment are the clan of Scorpions and the clan of Snakes. Both clans hated each other with a passion. Wars became non stop between the two, each wanting to become the top clan.

It is forbidden to withdraw from a clan. Once you are chosen and or born into a clan, your stuck with it until you die. If seen and proven unloyal, you're immediately sentenced to death. You cannot have any contact with a member of another clan unless it is to eliminate them. Whether one likes it on or not, you must follow these rules.

My name is Y/n L/n, I'm eighteen and I am apart of the Scorpion clan. I wasn't chosen into the clan, I was born into it. Do I like the war aspect of being in a clan? To be honest, I don't like it at all. I don't understand why we can't all just let bygones be bygones and all be at peace. But according to my father, things aren't that easy.

I've been trained to eliminate those from other clans since I was young. Not to brag or anything but I guess some people would call me one of the best female fighters in the clan. I never said I didn't like the combat aspect of the war. It's just the killing that I'm against. There's no special treatment for kids, as long as their from another clan, their automatically dead to us. I've killed before and I'm not proud of it. I'm forced to kill, if I don't, they'll kill me. It's just how this world works.

Each clan is represented by an animal. For example, my clan is represented by the scorpion and everyone is given a tattoo or "branding" as some would call it, from birth. I know it sounds a bit cruel for a baby to get a tattoo when their first born but it's what the council decided.

Mine is placed behind behind my neck. (A/n: The picture is just to show you what the tat looks like) It's better to keep your branding hidden so when your out in the streets or anywhere in public, other clans won't jump you out of nowhere and kill you.

I don't remember who my parents are. I've been an orphan for as long as I can remember. I've been taken in by a few families but none of them really cared for me so I usually went off on my own in search of my own place. That was before I met Lucas. I guess you could say he's like the "father" I never had. He's more like an uncle to me rather than a father though. He found me wandering the streets one day and offered me to stay in his home until I can find my own home. Without him, I'd probably be sleeping on the streets starving to death.

Lucas is one of the main members of the council. The leader of our clan is headmistress Delancy. She's known for her serious demeanor and piercing glares. I've spoken to her a couple times but only when she needs me to go on assignments or patrols.

Sometimes I wish that there weren't such things as clans and war crap. The world can live without them can't they? If I had the power to change all of this, I would.
