#11. "you're just naturally dumb."

#18. "why do you have a duck in your bag?"

you stood in front of your apartment building, looking down the sidewalk on both sides of you. you were waiting for your boyfriend, kim taehyung. he said he would meet you outside just moments ago. but he was nowhere to be seen. just as you were beginning to wonder where he was and why he was late, someone jumped onto you from behind. you screamed, immediately thinking someone was attacking you. but as soon as you heard laughter, you whipped around. there stood your boyfriend, a wide grin as he clutched his stomach in laughter. you glared at him. you removed your bag off of your shoulder and swung it at him.

"calm down." taehyung cried, still laughing.

you swung your bag to hit him again, only this time taehyung grabbed it and pulled it from your hands. you sighed and you finally could feel your heart calm down. "you almost gave me a heart attack, tae." you said to him while holding a hand up to your heart.

taehyung finally stopped laughing, although he still had a goofy grin plastered on his face. he held your bag in front of him as if it would shield you from him. "sorry. i couldn't help myself."

you glared at him once more, before reaching for your bag. but taehyung held it out of reach. "yah, kim taehyung."

he stepped back as you tried to reach for it again. "my love is so small." he teased.

you narrowed your eyes and this time, you tried to jump. taehyung was invincible...and tall. he turned around so that his back was to you. you used this moment to climb onto his back, hoping to reach for your bag. however you had to wrap your arms around his neck so that you wouldn't fall off. "tae." you whined, "can i please have my bag back?"

taehyung was now rummaging through your bag. "hey, y/n." he paused dramatically, making you wonder what he was thinking. "why do you have a duck in your bag?"

your eyes widened. you decided to play along with taehyung. "taehyung! you don't just ask someone why they have a duck in their bag."

taehyung remained serious. "no, seriously. why is there a duck in your bag?"

you felt your heart begin to race. "what?" you jumped off of taehyung's back because you couldn't see your bag from where you were. with anxiety growing in the pit of your stomach, you hurried around. "where's the duck?"

taehyung burst into laughter suddenly. you felt your heart shatter. "what is with you? i legit thought i had a real duck in my bag."

taehyung pulled you into a hug. "i'm sorry, love. you're just so fun to mess with."

you looked up at his jaw, from where you stood. it was a nice view, but it didn't make your anger go away. "you're mean." you sighed. "i always fall for your tricks."

taehyung wondered if he should hold back his tongue at his next response. perhaps it would take things too far, but instead, he felt himself saying it anyway. "you're just naturally dumb."

while still in his embrace, you slapped his back...hard. taehyung released a cute "ow" sound, a pain smile on his face as he staggered away from you. he released your from his embrace. this is where you began to laugh. "you deserve it."

taehyung recovered quickly. "i'm sorry. i love you."

"hmm." you hummed, grabbing your bag from taehyung.

taehyung rubbed his back before grabbing your hand. "please forgive me." he asked, an innocent smile on his face.

you stared at him. "god, you're so damn cute." you mumbled, fighting a smile on your face.

taehyung smiled and leaned in to peck your cheek. you laughed in response, adjusting the strap of your bag on your shoulder. "are we still going to the aquarium or not?"

taehyung looked down at you. "it's kinda a long walk from here. we'd have to take the bus."

you sighed, "alright."

after a long bus ride, because of the many stops it had to make on the way to downtown seoul, you finally arrived. taehyung had wanted to take you here ever since you mentioned how long its been since you've been to an aquarium. taehyung paid for the tickets at the front desk, and immediately grabbed your hand afterwards. "alright, let's go."

you and him followed the path of the aquarium. sometimes, you and taehyung would make fun of each other, pointing out fish that looked similar to one another. "oh my god!" you exclaimed, pulling taehyung behind you. you pointed to a blue fish. "this fish looks like you. it had your blue hair and everything."

taehyung burst out laughing. "it's just blue! that doesn't mean it looks like me."

you laughed and moved on to the next tank. it was a smaller tank, for smaller fish. you hummed as a thought popped into your mind. "perhaps i could get my own fish tank at home."

taehyung looked into the tank, a light blush forming on his cheeks. you could tell he had something to say. he was obviously hesitating. "perhaps we can get one in an instance where we have a place together or something." his voice was quiet, and he stuttered slightly.

you blushed heavily, slowly turning your head to look at taehyung. you felt your heart beat faster, and you could feel your stomach flip from nervousness. you smiled, "let's do it." you replied.

taehyung met your eyes and smiled happily. the smile that you fall in love with over and over again. taehyung was the most precious thing on earth. he was kind, loving, caring, and perfect. you sometimes couldn't believe that you managed to snatch yourself a good boyfriend.

you and taehyung continued through the aquarium. you and him took various pictures of the fish and of you and him together. many of the pictures consisted of you and taehyung mimicking the fish. many adults with children spared weird glances at you and taehyung when one of you burst out laughing while trying to take a picture. you and taehyung probably looked like dorks, but neither of you cared.

finally, you and taehyung reached the end of the aquarium. there was a gift shop at the end. you and taehyung wandered around the gift shop. "we should get something to remind us of this date." you suggested.

taehyung looked around, finding a wall full of key chains. he pulled your over to it, "look, there's a duck."

you rolled your eyes, having flashbacks from earlier. "why do they have ducks? i didn't see any ducks here."

taehyung shrugged. "let's get this one." taehyung smiled and held the duck next to your face. "little duck." he mumbled.

you narrowed your eyes at him. "but you look cute." he added. "and this blue fish. that way it's one for you, and one for me." taehyung held the little duck and the blue fish keychain next to each other. you already loved them. the little duck from taehyung teasing you in the morning and the blue fish from you making fun of taehyung's blue hair.

you nodded contently. "i'll pay."

"no, i will." taehyung replied, holding the keychains to his chest.

you looked at him, practically begging. "but you paid for the tickets. they were expensive."

taehyung suddenly pecked your nose. you were surprised from the sudden move, that taehyung was able to walk around you and was already pulling out his wallet. you tried to suppress the pink in your cheeks and you made your way over to the counter. you stood next to taehyung, a small pout on your face. taehyung, on the other hand, stood proud as he handed the cashier his card. the cashier smiled at him, looking at both you and him while she handed back the keychains in a small bag. you blushed more.

taehyung grabbed your hand and led the way out of the building. he smiled. "i love you."

your cheeks couldn't get any redder, or hotter. "i swear, kim taehyung, you're going to be the death of me someday."

he grinned happily, swinging the pair of hands between you and him. "i know."
