Here's part 2. Enjoy!
A stillness settled inside the dropship as Bellamy stood and rubbed the edge of the damp rag between his fingers.
Though despite the fact that Clarke was fully immersed in a fitful sleep on the floor, he kept a watchful eye on her form for any sudden change in her while busying himself with grabbing a bowl, left on one of the counters, and filling it with water from the bottle.Tentatively he stepped towards Clarke, careful not to wake her but even Bellamy could sense that she was too in and out of consciousness to notice. Alarmed, he glanced at the wound on her head, that for some reason hadn't stopped bleeding. The red liquid was beginning to pool at the base of Clarke's neck, staining her hair a sickly red.
The sight made Bellamy's stomach twist despite having seen horrors much worse than this. Yet it was something about the wound belonging to Clarke that gave him the unsettling feeling of stale fear on the tip of his tongue.
He had to stop the bleeding.
Quickly he removed his jacket and folded it into a make-shift pillow before edging closer to Clarke.
"Sorry, but this is gonna hurt," he half-whispered, unsure if Clarke could hear him. His hand came up and gently lifted her head to place the jacket underneath, earning him a groan of pain from Clarke. The sudden noise made Bellamy almost drop her head for fear of doing something wrong but kept going as she lay still and half-conscious to his actions. After the jacket was successfully placed, Bellamy stood and made his way round to Clarke's right side to examine the wound; carefully placing that damp rag against her head. Then after laying the bowl by his side, Bellamy settled himself cross-legged with his back to the dropship wall and stopped to gaze at Clarke.
The worry and fear for her still hadn't completely left his body; settling in his bones to be saved for another time. He knew there would likely be a few more times considering the world they lived in but Clarke being injured was something he hadn't been expecting; taking him completely by surprise. She seemed so headstrong, so determined and so stubborn all the time that most people around her, even Bellamy, thought she was indestructible; bulletproof. Like nothing could touch her; she was so powerful, always keeping a cool head in situations where he would have panicked, and hopeful that things would turn out okay. Though he knew that hadn't changed since the day he'd met her. Something about her had always equally intimidated and intrigued him when it came to the blonde and at the memory of those days, his face stretched into a nostalgic smile.
Against the dull metal of the floor, Clarke was pale and accumulating a cold sweat on her brow. For a second Bellamy worried that she was running a fever, but as he softly touched his open palm to her forehead, he knew that the worst was over. The touch of her skin sent a small shock through him but he brushed it aside as nothing more than nervousness for her wellbeing and carefully began to dab at the blood staining the side of her face.
Clarke stayed relatively still as Bellamy softly cleaned away the dry blood, each time watching in discomfort as the bowl at his feet turned a deeper shade of pink when he wrung out the rag. The rhythmic strokes of it calmed Bellamy and he let his eyes soften as he wondered what was going on in Clarke's mind.
He could guess it probably had something to do with Finn, considering they both worried about his safety; though even he knew that Clarke cared a little more than she let on nowadays. Briefly glancing to the curtain, Bellamy thought back to the look on Finn's face in the Grounder village after the massacre. The look of twisted relief at finding Clarke alive haunted Bellamy after he'd looked to see the bodies of fallen Grounders lying all around on the muddy ground. The way Clarke had backed away in horror as Finn tried to reach out to her. The sudden overwhelming impulse to protect Clarke, Bellamy had felt, before placing himself between them, acting as a physical barrier.
