Chapter 23.

Calum's pov

Everything went by so fast. First, we were back on tour, performing in every countries possible. Sophie was officially gone, since she moved in an appartment in New York. She wasn't coming back to Cali, and l was kind of sad. Sophie was slowly beginning her life, as she percued her studies to become a surgeon. I was actually impressed.

Luke was feeling better. He was back, the real Luke that we had lost for couple of months. Since the night he confessed his thoughts to us, his bestfriends, he seemed to be different. It was a good thing, because we needed his personality and creativity. Luke wrote really good love songs, but we couldn't do an album only made of that kind of songs. We were a pop rock band!

Micheal, Ashton and l were in New York. We decieded to visit Sophie, since we had enough to only see her on skype. Luke refused to accompain us, and we didn't insisted.

Sophie was living in this amazing loft, with a lot of windows, which created a lot of light. It was beautiful. The only thing that surprised me was to see Dylan, sitting in the couch when we came in.

"Long time no see, boys!" He said to us, handing his hand for us to shake it. We grabed it and politely smiled to him.

I turned to Sophie and sent her the 'What the hell?!' kind of look but she answered by shrugging her shoulders.

Sophie showed us the guest room where we would sleep for the next two nights. It was a small room, with already three little beds. It was cute, she had prepared everything for us, from a new toothbrush in the washroom, to our favorite candies in the cabinets of the kitchen. Sophie was like that, always ready to help the others and thoughtful.

It was weird to see her like that. We were used to hang out at the beach, but instead she made us a guiding tour of New York, an awesome city, but so different then California. She seemed happy, tho and so l was for her. But, Dylan was still in the back of my mind.

"What is going on between you and Dylan?" l finally asked, as we exited the campus of Columbia, where she was studying.

"Well... We hang out a little and Chris and him became friends so he spends more time at the appartment."

"By hanging out you mean, hooking up?" Ashton teased her. She turned red instantly, just as expected. We all laughed at her and she finally joined us.

We were walking in a beautiful park when a bunch of girls stopped us. They asked us some autographs and pictures. One of them started a conversation with Sophie, telling her how she supported her when Luke admitted his love towards Sophie on tv. I looked at my friend and she seemed uncomfortable, espicially when the girl asked where Luke was.

"Hum.. he couldn't make it!" Sophie answered, before one of us could say anything. We all nodded and did our best to make them leave, satisfied.

"Sorry about that. We know how uncomfortable you are with the whole Luke's story..." Micheal spoke for us.

"Come on, guys! I am not a kid anymore! I am a strong women, who will soon turn 19, you know?" She tried to convice us, but also herself. She lost her smile for the rest of the day, but when we headed back home, it seemed to be better.

We cooked for her, preparing our famous tacos and nachos. Everybody, from Chris, Valery, Marcus and even Dylan, sat at the table and ate our plate. We actually had a great time, Micheal getting along with Marcus really well. They talked about comics all night long...

When we had to leave, Sophie's birthday was in a month. We promised to come back for it and celebrate with her. She told us to say hi to Luke and we confirmed we would. Sophie sadly smiled to us and left the airport, when we had to attend our gate, after a big group hug.

"Sophie is just like Luke." Micheal stated, once we were in the plane.

"What do you mean?" Ashton questioned.

" Both of them are desperate to make us believe that they've moved on and that they feel better about their history, but we know very well that they are lying. To us, but mostly to themselves." Mikey said, and l couldn't helped but agree with him.
