Sophie's pov

It's crazy how l would never survive without my friends. They were the most precious thing l had, because l knew l could always count on them.

I was celebrating my 19th anniversary. I hadn't planned nothing big, just a dinner with my room-mates. Valery had reserved in this super fancy restaurant in the rich side of the town. We all dressed up, me wearing my new dress that Valery bought for my birthday. It was a grey mid-tight dress, sleeveless but the bust was heart shaped and covered with beads. It was just so pretty and expensive.

"Don't buy it, it's too much, really." I said after checking the tag hanging in the back of the perfect dress. I looked at my reflection in the mirror and pouted. I really liked it, it was perfect for my body and the colour made my eyes shine.

"It's my gift, so l'll pay the price l want!" Valery replied. She saw the smile spread on my face and l jumped in her arms. She was the bestfriend l ever had, as a girl.

So, when we reached the restaurant, which was paied by Marcus and Chris, my smile faded quickly. Valery was arguing with the host, telling her that she had called a week before to make sure that we wouldn't have a problem with the reservation. Of course, it had to be complicated. My friends, even Dylan was there since we were kind of together (l know it's not the best choice, but for now, he's my only option!), were all disappointed and they kept appologizing to me as we made our way back to the car.

"Guys, it's fine! Just to see you put so much effort to make me happy, it makes me happy!" I smiled to the four of them, but they were still sad, Valery was mad of course. The ride back to the house was silent and l was disappointed. I put a lot of time on my make up and hair dressing for the restaurant. But, I had to keep it to myself because l knew my friends really wanted this to work.

"Do you want to try another restaurant?" Chris proposed me from the driver's seat. I shook my head no, suddenly feeling really tired.

"We should go back at the appartment and order some pizza." I suggest and they all agreed. They didn't really had the choice since I was the birthday girl!

In the stairs of the appartment building, l decieded to take my shoes off. Dylan proposed me to carry me, piggy style, so l jumped on his back, even if l was wearring a dress. We all laughed and when we reached the door, they were all looking for their keys.

"I think l forgot them inside!" Valery said, after it was Marcus and Chris. I thought that Chris was lying since he drove us to the restaurant. Suspicious...

"I got it." I said, rolling my eyes playfully as they all got out of my way so l could unlock the front door.

As soon as l openned the light, a ton of people came out of nowhere and made me jump in surprise. There were balloones everywhere and garlands on the walls.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!!" All the familiar faces yelled at the same time. Then, someone with a saxophone started to play the happy birthday song, along by all the voices of my guests. I turned around to see Marcus, Chris, Valery and Dylan all smiling from ear to ear while singing as well, Valery holding a big cake in her arms. I made a wish and blew the canddles, making everyone applause and scream.

Then, someone grabbed my arm and l instantly recognized the perfume of my mother. I jumped in her arms, and then in my father's, happy to see them.

This was the best surprise ever!

Then, l heard someone call my name. I screamed in surprise when I saw Calum, Micheal and Ashton coming out from the crowd with their guitars and drum sticks. I jumped on them, kissing their cheaks and feeling the tears prick in my eyes.
