Sophie's pov
I've spent the week in my old teenage girl's bedroom.
I know it sounds pathetic, but I didn't left my house more then two hours, because Calum wanted to go at the beach. I followed them, but my heart wasn't there.
I was really mad at myself for being such a boring person. I wanted to be the old me, the girl who find everything funny and is always looking for the positive. I was like that before, before I realized my feelings and my friendship with Luke messed up. The boys don't deserve to be with a girl like me.
It's only that I missed Luke so much... I really thought we were going to see each others, after almost a year. It hurts.
And then, the day before I left, it's when everything became worst.
I was helping my mother with the dinner, when I heard the front door open.
"Are we expecting some guests?" I asked my mother, since my father was in is office down the stairs. My mom sent me a small smile and the confusion grew in me.
I heard footsteps coming closer to us and when I saw the blond hair of Luke's mother, a big smile plastered on my face.
"LIZ!" I screamed. She laughed when I jumped in her arms and almost made both of us fall.
"You are so beautiful, look at you!" She exclaimed, motionning to me and my body. I blushed but then hugged her again.
"It's so good to see you." I said in her hair and she agreed.
After a couple of seconds, we both pulled away. I had the two most important women for me, standing together and starring at me. My mom had tears in her eyes and a sad smile.
"Is everything ok?" I asked, my heart starting to panic.
"I want your father to be here before I tell you..." My mother whispeared to hide her shaking voice, but I could hear it anyway. She was about to cry and I felt like I was too.
Once my dad joined us, after Liz went in his office to get him, we all sat in the living room. The three of them were facing me, sitting on the big black letter couch, as I was sitting alone in the one place sofa. I felt so little, like if I was young again and I just had been caught. I was waiting for them to speak first, but they all looked lost in their own thoughts, maybe searching for their words.
"Can anybody tell me what's going on?" I said, maybe a little bit too harsh and loud because they all looked surprise when I spoke. I couldn't control me because the wait was killing me. My father turned to his wife, taking her hand in his, just like Liz did.
I understood that the problem was coming from my mother.
"Mom?" My voice break because of the look on her face. Her eyes were full of fear, and I never saw her like that. My mom was the kind of woman that hide her emotions to look strong infront of the people, even infront of me. She wanted me to become a strong woman.
So, when I saw all these walls break down infront of me and how desesperate she looked, I couldn't take it. It's at this exact moment that I realized how tired she looked and skinny she sunddenly became. Even if I didn't knew yet what she was about to tell me, I couldn't stop the tears invading my eyes and soon fell freely down my cheeks.
"Honey, please tell her.." She said to my father, not breaking the eyes contact we had, both of us crying. I did, because I wanted to look at my dad. He looked as destroy as all of us.
"Soph, princess... Your mother has cancer."
I gasped in surprise and held a hand to my mouth. It wasn't possible.
