Once Mean had started paying attention to the maids at his house, people who normally blended in with the surroundings so much he barely noticed them, it wasn't hard to find out about the mysterious stowaway that was living on their premises.
During dinner, he heard two of them whisper to each other about the good luck one of them had to work the late shift tonight, so she could sneak to the pool house in the morning and watch. Apparently, sneaking to the pool house in the morning and watching something there was a fixture in the schedule of all the young maids – and Mean even heard some of them swoon over the cute boy and the set of apparently nice muscles he was hiding under his ill-fitting clothes. They had to be referring to Plan.
He hoped.
Mean needed to restrain himself not to go to the pool house right away and hopefully find him there immediately – he needed to remember Viola's strategies and collect information before he acted.
After all, he currently had the advantage that he knew Plan was living here, while he was reasonably certain that Plan didn't know who the owners of this house were. He would probably try to find another accommodation as soon as he realised Mean was living here, too – so he needed to hold his horses.
That night, Mean felt sleepless for entirely different reasons than before. Instead of despair, he suddenly had hope.
The next morning, he surprised his parents and his two middle sisters at the breakfast table by stating that he would start going for morning runs outside from now on, instead of hitting the gym. His father had only smiled mildly, evidently thinking he would give up on that resolution soon – but nobody was stopping him. Morning exercises were good for the body and the soul after all, his mother had remarked with a chuckle.
As soon as he was out of the sight from the breakfast room, he stopped the pretence of running and quietly sneaked over to the servants' quarters. He didn't have to hide in the bushes for long until a group of chattering young maids left the premises and quickly hurried to the pool area.
Mean followed them carefully. He felt silly, but he didn't want to get caught, neither by the maids nor by Plan.
When he saw the maids hide behind his mother's favourite rose bushes, Mean quietly made his way to the trees on the other side and hid behind the thickest trunk. He carefully peeked around it.
He had barely arrived in his hiding place, when he could hear hushed giggles from the rose bushes, while the door of the empty – or not so empty anymore – side-room of the pool house opened.
Mean needed to fan himself when he saw a sleepy Plan step out of the door, only wearing tight pyjama shorts and nothing else. He had a towel thrown over his right shoulder and held a small bag in his hands, probably containing his toiletry kit.
The maids had been right, his body was much more toned than his cute appearance gave him credit for and Mean had to admit that he looked disconcertingly hot.
And okay... he had to stare.
Plan didn't seem to be aware of his audience – or he was ignoring it, like he was ignoring everyone at UdG. He disappeared into the changing room of the pool house.
When he re-emerged, Mean nearly gasped and he quickly held his hand over his mouth. Plan walked out with only the towel slung around his waist, the pyjama shorts in his hands along with his toiletry bag. He even stretched his arms lazily in the morning sun, before he walked back to the side-room he was living in.
So... judging by the maids' excitement, this... performance had been happening every morning since... whenever Plan had moved here? And nobody had stopped it, yet?
