Author's Note: Hey Everyone! I was in a good mood today so I decided to upload a day early :) Chapter 20 won't be up till after Wednesday, though. Two more things, #1 I've announced a little contest. “Harry, this is MaryGrace,” Niall said blushing. “We’ve known each other for about three months,” he said offering a wink in MaryGrace’s direction. She smiled back at him. “and MaryGrace, I’m sure you’ve seen Harry at least once before.” Niall finished, laughing a bit. Harry offered a sparkling white smile and put out his hand. She shook his hand and smiled at him.
“Nice to meet you, MaryGrace,” Harry said. Niall was happy that he was finally able to talk about her after their conversation this morning. He felt a lot better not keeping secrets. MaryGrace turned toward her friend.
“Harry and Niall, this is Jessie,” MaryGrace offered gesturing towards her friend. Harry’s gaze shifted to the brunette with the curly ponytail as he looked her up and down. She wore a long sleeved black fitted sweater dress, floral black tights, and low black heels. Her peacoat was slung over her arm along with her purse. She wore large pearl earrings which pulled the whole outfit together. A light shade of red lip stain offset her hazel eyes. She had made an effort to keep her outfit semi-formal, but completely classy-and had succeeded. “She’s one of my best friends.” Niall offered his hand forward to greet her and she shook it.
“It’s nice to meet you Jess!” Niall said with enthusiasm. Harry put his hand forward as soon as Niall’s left hers.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Harry said flirtatiously “I’m Harry.” Jessie thought it sounded more like “I’m Harreh”, but she loved it. His accent made her melt. “Niall didn’t tell me MaryGrace was bringing a guest,” Harry added, running his hands through his newly cut hair. Niall looked toward one of his best mates to see that his eyes had lit up. Harry barely took his eyes off Jess the whole time.
“So do you have your passes?” Niall asked breaking the silence. MaryGrace began fishing through her purse while Jessie just stood there and smiled.
“Right here,” she said pulling them out out the envelope. She put one over her neck and handed the other to Jess. The passes featured pictures from the Up All Night photo shoot and said Official VIP - Guest of 1D (All Access) . “Wow, I feel so important!” MaryGrace joked.
“You are!” Niall said putting his arm around her as they began walking back to the tunnel to go backstage. Niall and MaryGrace walked as a couple while Harry and Jess followed behind them, walking together. Harry was chatting up Jess, so Niall and MaryGrace let them be. They seemed to be getting along pretty well.
“So we are going to go hang out backstage till 5 and then the meet and greet starts,” Niall explained. “You and Jess can either go to your seats early and hang out in the theater till soundcheck, or come to the meet and greet.” Niall had originally forgotten about the Meet and Greet and open soundcheck. Most of the shows didn’t have a VIP option, but apparently NYC was an exception. “Are you okay with that, babe?”
“Yeah that’s fine! We’ll probably just hang out in the venue for a while. I was gonna say we’d run for Starbucks, but it might be hard getting back in around then. All the fans will probably be lined up.” MaryGrace trailed off and Niall nodded knowingly. “By the way, I hope we didn’t overdress,” she said looking down at her outfit. “I just didn’t know what you had planned for later,” she said with a smile.
“Don’t worry,” Niall said with admiration in his eyes “I think you look stunning babe.” His arm was still around her shoulder so he pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her forehead. She looked down at her feet and blushed.
“I don’t get it.” MaryGrace said. Niall’s face immediately twisted into an expression of complete confusion. He lifted his eyebrows at her. “You act like I’m so gorgeous, but you’ve seen so many girls all over the world,” she pondered. “What makes me so special?” That’s when Niall smiled a big toothy grin.
“I have a crush on your mind, I fell for your personality, and your looks are just a big bonus,” Niall said charmingly. MaryGrace caught on and shoved him playfully.
“You can’t just steal from The Notebook!” she accused him in between bits of laughter. “Nice try.”
“I guess you caught me,” Niall said jokingly. He was laughing, but stopped abruptly. “Want to know the real reason?” MaryGrace nodded. “Because you’re all mine,” he said as he came up behind her. His hands slid gently around her waist, pulling her tightly towards him. He craned his head forward as her head turned and her smiling eyes met his. He leaned in to kiss her.
