BAKUGOU'S POV
I woke up from my deep slumber when I felt the train come to a stop, and once I was fully awake within a few seconds I noticed the nerd had fallen asleep on my shoulder. To be honest I didn't want to disturb him from his sleep since he looked so peaceful, but then I got a flash of a morbid memory I wished not to see ever again. I quickly, but gently, shook Deku awake and told him that we were at our stop. He nodded and lifted his head from my shoulder, allowing me to gather my bag and walk to the train door with him close behind me.
The walk up the hill, or what seemed like a mountain to me, was devoid from any conversation allowing us to listen to the singing of the birds. I didn't realize it until now but October sure was chilly during our time at UA, but it would be a great opportunity for me since I recalled our class putting together a Halloween after-party of the sort. The first time I went through that, things didn't go very well between me and the nerd. In the end our fight had ended with him leaving in a rush. I wasn't going to let that happen again, not when I have this chance to fix what I already did and experienced.
As we were getting closer to the school, Deku had cleared his throat and spoke up in a slightly hushed tone.
" You know, I can't recall how many times I've skipped school, because this is the first time anyone has come for me and was worried... I might sound pathetic but just having you do this for me is comforting to me..."
" Yeah well, I'll keep doing this everyday so you don't ever skip again." I retorted.
" ... Sometimes I wonder if you put up that aggressive side to either hide something or how you really feel... Sorry, I was talking to myself." I watched as Deku held his arms close to his body while walking next to me.
I sighed and gently rested my right arm around his shoulders, which caused him to go tense, but he soon allowed me to keep my arm around him. So I guided us into the building and together we walked up the stairs to the floor our homeroom was located. Once we got close to the classroom, I unhooked my arm from the nerd and opened the door for him. Everyone else was already in the classroom and it seemed like Mr Aizawa had started roll call. Our teacher looked over to us and glared.
" You'd better have a good reason on why you're late."
" Yeah well I was busy collecting this numskull here so he'd show up for once." I reported.
I knew Deku wouldn't like what I had said but it was true in every way. Mr Aizawa sighed and waved us off with his hand, continuing with roll call. He had called my name and after a bit called Deku's.
This was all weird for me, it was like any other school day when really it wasn't. I'll just have to get used to it for a while, since I don't know how long I'll be here.

Before I knew it, it was our lunch break. I was surrounded by a group of friends that thought they were really close with me, and I was dragged off with them. I was going to try and eat with Deku but it seems Kirishima had other plans for me. Him and Denki called over the loud and obnoxious Mina, so I had a lot on my plate already.
While I was sitting at the table they took me to, they were talking about the nerd, which piqued my interest.
" Well, seems like this topic caught the wild fish." Mina pointed out.
" Just ignore me and keep talking."
" Nope! You're a part of this conversation now!" Mina replied.
Kirishima Continued where he left off once I finished scolding Mina, " Yeah, well, isn't anyone else a bit concerned about what might happen with Midoriya? I mean, he watched All Might die right in front of him. Since then, I've been on edge."
" What's there to be on edge for? He's just a damn nerd... he'll get over it."
" This is something big, Bakugou. Even I'm still shook up after that..."
I wasn't going to stand for this conversation, so I stood up and took my tray with me to throw out the trash and return to my class. I heard the group calling out for me but I ignored them and continued to walk.
I was sitting in Kirishima's chair at his desk, as Todoroki was at mine, when I noticed Deku at my desk with Icy-Hot. It struck me as odd at first but then I got this weird feeling, and as I continued to watch what was happening before me, my chest continued to clench in pain.
The bell had rung before I stood up to pull the nerd away from Icy-Hot, so when I stood up I went over to my desk after he and Deku returned to their seats. I turned to face Deku once I was in my seat and asked him what he was doing.
" What do you think you're doing with him?"
" Huh? Oh, you mean with Todoroki. He was stuck on a previous lesson so I explained it to him for him to understand. What, I can't talk to anyone?"
" That's not what I'm getting at."
" Then what are you trying to get at?"
" ... Why were you so close with him?"
" I told you, I was helping him in understanding a previous lesson."
" Sure, whatever." After that, I turned away from Deku and waited for Mr Aizawa to show up.
I might've been a bit harsh on him but it's not like I cared right now. All that I cared about at the moment was the fact that the two of them were extremely close, and I didn't like it one bit.
AN: Srry about the slow updates, but trust me, I'll updates these when I get around to it. I'm in New York visiting my family, mainly my favorite cousin, so I might not update much today. (We'll see.) So I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you in the next one!!!
