We walked to the school in peace, but the weather was almost freezing. Because of this, I had Deku in my arms, trying to keep him warm. The train ride to the school was a bit of a brief break from the cold weather, but once we got off it was back to freezing Hell. Some part of me thought that Todoroki had something to do with this weather, but that was too ridiculous to assume. Sure his power is great, but not that great to change the weather like this.
Once we entered the our classroom, we were immediately welcomed to the warmth from the heaters inside the room. I think we have Yaoyorozu to thank for that. Deku had sat down at his desk, which was behind mine, and started to finish up his homework that was due today.
" That's rare. You always do your homework on time." I remarked.
" Well, I couldn't get around to it because of... you know..."
I nodded upon seeing his cheeks start to turn red, and I could feel mine do the same, slightly.
He finished the homework within a minute, so he went to talk with the class rep and the one that manipulates gravity. As he was talking with them, I was talking with Denki, Kiri, and Sero. Well, they were talking to me since they came up to me.
" Yo Bakugou, we want to know what's up." Denki said.
" Know what?" I asked.
" You know exactly what we want to know." Kiri joined.
" Yeah man. When did you pick up a chick?" Sero asked.
I sat there with a dumbfounded face. What on Earth are they talking about? Then I recalled the shower situation when I got that text from Deku yesterday. I sighed from slight irritation and cleared things up, but without mentioning Deku's name.
" Listen, my mother texted me saying that she was doing fine and asking if was okay too. Her and my dad moved to a new house so she was only touching base."
" That's so a lie! It's totally a girl! C'mon! Tell us who she is!" Denki persisted.
I sighed once again before looking over to Deku, and realizing that he was looking at me too. Eventually, both of our little groups looked between me, him, and themselves. I could care less if they knew my relationship with Deku, but I was only hiding it for his sake. Mainly because I don't know if he wants anyone else to know about it yet. Then I saw him nod, which caused me to turn my head to the side a bit. He took out his phone and sent me a simple message, but it's meaning surprised me.
Tell them.
I was shook if only a bit, but I replied, agreeing that I'd do it. I put my phone back into my pocket and put on a small smile before taking in a small breath.
" You know what? I'll tell you the truth. The truth is that-"
" That I'm a brute that doesn't deserve happiness or love. That about right, or were you going to say something else?"
I stood up, completely alert and ready to strike if he did anything to Deku. Kiri was trying to calm me down and to have me sit down again, but nothing was going to make me calm. Not with this bastard in the room now.
" Damn Icy-Hot bastard! You have some nerve showing up and saying something like that!"
" And you have some nerve trying to claim Midoriya as your own in front of everyone in the class. Now freeze."
Before I knew it, my body temperature started to decline rapidly. Everyone else in the room was frozen except for Deku. He walked up to me slowly and once he was face to face with me, he began to speak the nonsense I knew he'd spout.
" I'll give you one last chance, Bakugou. Give up your pursuit for Midoriya and I'll leave you alone. Seems like a great deal if you ask me. So, what do you say?"
" ... Go to Hell... damn bastard..."
" Such a shame, now you'll freeze to your death."
" Not if I can help it." A low and scratchy voice resounded in the doorway.
My eyes looked over Todoroki's shoulder and that's when I saw Mr Aizawa, using his quirk on the bastard in front of me. His ice melted in no time and everyone in the class was given a towel. I had the worst of it and that might've worried Deku since he came up to me.
" Kacchan! Are you okay?"
" Yeah... I'm fine, don't worry about me..." I spoke through chattering teeth.
My response wasn't that believable, so Deku wrapped his towel and his school coat around me. With these extra layers of fabric, I began to feel my body warm up from the cold, but what caught me off guard was what he did to ensure I got better. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly. However, I could feel him shuddering, not from being cold, no. He was scared, scared for me. I chuckled a bit before wrapping an arm around him, burying my face into his neck and shoulder.
" I'm alright now, Izuku."
" I know... I know Katsuki..."
I opened my eyes, since I closed them to relish the moment, and saw that everyone was staring at us. I didn't care what they thought of us, and now I knew that Izuku didn't either. I laid my eyes on Todoroki, but this time, I had no malice, ill-intent, anger, or hatred pointing towards him. I simply wore a sympathetic expression, and I watched as his boiling anger he had fade away for good. He hung his head and looked back to me.
Was he crying?
He had left the room with Mr Aizawa, and everyone else rushed up to us with big smiles and welcoming arms.
AN: Here's chapter twenty-one. I wanted one more conflict between Todoroki and Bakugou so here it is. Todoroki finally understands where our sweet Deku's heart lies. So, he's not a problem anymore, but I have one more conflict for guys to read and find out what happens. I may or may not finish this Fanfic today like I'm hoping, but we'll see. I have Geometry homework and two days of Goretober to do, since I skipped yesterday day for Homecoming dress shopping and came back empty handed. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I'll see you in the next one!!!
