"I can't believe you're wearing a dress"

"Turn around" Lei demanded as she hopped onto my bed.

I took a deep breath and turned around slowly. My floral dress spinning into its position, hanging low on my body.

I had to admit, it felt strange wearing a semi-formal dress, when I usually wore Jeans and hoodies.

"You look gorgeous" Lei muttered while smiling at me. She stood up and engulfed me in a hug.

I loved bonding moments like these with my sister. I loved her so much, despite our differences.

"I'm actually nervous"I said anxiously picking at my nails.

"Don't be. You're an amazing person Elizabeth"she said chuckling. I gave her a death glare at the sound of my full name before walking into the bathroom.

Soon, the door bell rang indicating that Shawn had arrived. I said my goodbyes to my sister and left the house.

"I can't believe you're wearing a dress" Shawn said laughing while unlocking the door.

"Shut up it was Lei's idea" I replied following him into the house.

"Mum, Dad, we're home" Shawn yelled.

Instantly, Aaliyah, Karen and Manny walked into the living room to greet me.

"Elle, it's good to see you again" Karen said making her way towards me. "It's nice to see you guys again too"I said.

"Can we skip the awkward convos and eat? We don't need to bore Elle" Aaliyah spoke up while shooting me a cheeky smile.

We all sat around the table and passed around the food. Karen and Manuel shared some of Shawn's and Aaliyah's childhood experiences and we all were  cracking up with laughter.

Shawn and Aaliyah were close, just like how close Lei and I are.

"So Karen" I spoke up clearing my throat, "what do you think Shawn should do about the deal?"I asked her. I could feel Shawn tense up near me and I started to feel bad for making hin awkward.

"Well I'm glad he accepted the deal, despite meaning he would move. However, Manny and I support him. I think it was a good call" she answered.

"Yes I agree"Manny joined in.

I looked over to Shawn giving him a confused look. His face looked worried and anxious.

"Um- mum, dad, can you please excuse us for just a second?" Shawn spoke up.

"Why won't you finish your food first? Is something wrong?" Karen asked.

"No mum, it'll be quick" Shawn quickly grabbed my hand and dragged me to his room, slamming the door behind him.

"What the hell Shawn?" I whisper-screamed at him.

He started to pace quickly around the room, his breathing becoming heavier with every second.

"I'm sorry Elle-I planned to tell you sooner but- it was a tough decision. I wanted to tell you but I couldn't because I know that I will be far away from you" he said panicking.

I placed my hands on his shoulder and tried to calm him down.

"Breathe love"I muttered.

"The dealer said that if I accepted, I would have to move to the UK for some time to record songs there" he said.

I looked down as I felt hot tears forming in my eyes.

"This is why I couldn't get myself to tell you. I knew you would want me to take it but that means we will be far away from each other" he said.

I sighed and locked my eyes with his.

"It was the right decision Shawn. I'm proud of you. We're still young and we can't let our relationship affect our future."I said.

He started to sob slowly and quietly.

"What are we going to do?"I asked.

"Distance relationship won't work Elle. I'll miss you so much but I think that the best thing to do is break up. We just met the right person at the wrong time"he said sadly.

I sobbed silently while wiping the current falling tears on his face.

I engulfed him in a hug and placed a peck on his temple.

"I guess this is goodbye then" I muttered.

Shawn walked me to the front door as I decided it was best if we cut off all contact immediately to make things easier.

"I love you Elle and I'll never forget you" Shawn said, his eyes all red and puffy.

"I will always love you Shawn Mendes"
