Chapter 15

"Congrats, babe," she whispered when they were in the car alone.

"Come here," he said, pointing to his lap. Kasalukuyan itong nakaupo sa driver's seat at nasa parking sila ng hotel kung saan sila magdi-dinner.

"Why?"

He pulled her with her arms ng hindi kaagad ito lumapit and now, she was sitting on his lap. At bigla na lang siyang hinalikan nito. It was a rough kiss.

But she pushed him away after a few minutes. "Atticus, may dinner pa tayo with your mom."

He rolled his eyes. "She's not supposed to be with us tonight. Siya lang naman ang mapilit. I just want to take you to our hotel room."

Natawa naman siya sa sinabi nito. "We can't yet. Your mom is already waiting for us."

"Fine," sagot nito. "But can't we just do a quick one here?" pilyong tanong nito and kissed her neck.

"No, baka may makakita sa'tin dito."

He laughed and tickled her neck all the more with his kisses. "I want you now, Celine," he whispered huskily. "Please? I might not last 'til after dinner time."

His hands move quickly at the back of her dress to unzip it. And then he caressed her breasts from outside the fabric.

She sighed to his kisses and quickly decided to surrender her body to him for now. She'll deal with the anonymous sender later. Kailangan niyang malaman kung anong kailangan nito bago nito masira ang relasyon nilang dalawa. She can't afford to lose Atticus now.

"Congratulations, hijo! I'm so proud of you," maligayang bati ni Amelia as soon as they sat down on a table inside the hotel's restaurant. "Your father will be so proud if he was here."

"Thanks, Ma." He motioned the waitress to prepare the appetizers already.

Celine was sitting in between across Amelia and beside Atticus. She was still feeling uneasy about the sender pero hindi na ito muling nagparamdam pa.

"So what are your plans now, hijo? Didiretso ka na ba sa pagtatrabaho o magbabakasyon ka muna?"

Atticus looked at Celine. "I have more important plans than that."

Celine just smiled when he said that.

"So will you be going to Singapore immediately?" tanong muli ni Amelia. "The earlier you start the training, the earlier you can come back."

"That's true. But I still am thinking when to start... or if I really need it," sagot nito.

"So you're thinking of staying?" Celine hopefully asked.

Hinawakan ni Atticus ang kamay niya at pinisil-pisil iyon. "Yes, I was thinking of that. But I have to talk to Attorney first-"

"Why stay when you can train in Singapore, hijo? That's a better opportunity," singit ni Amelia. "Iba pa rin pag sa ibang bansa ka nag-training. Your father wanted that specifically."

Tumango-tango si Atticus. "I know that, Ma. But if I'm given a choice and if I can work around that clause in the last will of Papa, I'd choose to stay here. The Singapore training can be at least one week per month. Or every weekend only. I don't necessarily have to stay there for a long time."

Medyo gumaan ang pakiramdam ni Celine ng marinig iyon. Hindi na siya iiwang mag-isa ni Atticus dito sa Pilipinas.

"Anyway, there's a reason why we're having dinner tonight," Atticus stated.

"To celebrate your success, hijo," sagot ni Amelia.

He just smiled at makahulugang tumingin kay Celine. "We'll go to the rooftop later. I want to show you something, babe."

Nakita ni Celine kung paano umasim ang mukha ni Amelia sa sinabi na iyon ni Atticus.

"Let me just quickly retouch and go to the restroom," Amelia said and stood up from the table.

"Anong gagawin natin sa rooftop mamaya?" tanong niya.

Kinindatan lang siya ng binata. "You'll see."

Naningkit ang mga mata niya dito. "Don't tell me where going to have sex there. You can never be satisfied, Atticus Alcaraz."

Umiling ito. "I wasn't thinking about sex. But not that you brought it up, you gave me an idea."

Natawa lamang ito sa sinabing iyon ni Atticus. And just then, she heard Atticus' phone receive a message. Nasa table lang kasi iyon at nakapatong katabi ng plato nito. He grabbed his phone to look at it.

And Celine felt her phone vibrate as well.

Good luck, my dear Celine, the message read. It was the same sender as this early afternoon!

Kinabahan siya ng mabasa ito. What does it mean?

"You had sex with Alden?" a husky voice asked beside her.

Her heart pounded loudly in her ears. She looked up from her phone to Atticus. "W-What?"

"You had sex with Alden." This time, it wasn't a question anymore. Ipinakita ni Atticus ang phone niya sa kanya containing the same photos sent to her this afternoon. At may mensahe iyong kasama. That she had sex with Alden at the night of his birthday party.

Itinapon ni Atticus ang phone niya sa sahig sa sobrang galit at nakita niya kung paano nabasag ang glass screen niyon.

"I... I'm sorry... I can't remember," was the only thing she could say.

Kitang kita niya ang galit sa mga mata ni Atticus. He was just quietly looking at her, pero nararamdaman niya na parang nandidiri na ito sa kanya.

She tried to reach out to him and grab his right arm pero pinalis nito ang kamay niya. "Atticus, let me explain..."

"What is there to explain, Celine?" He stood up and stared hard at her. May inilabas itong maliit na kahon mula sa bulsa ng pantalon nito. "You can take this and do whatever you want with it. I don't need it anymore." And heleft her abruptly on the table.

"Atticus," she whispered. She was left staring at his back as he walked out of the restaurant. Tears escaped from her eyes in mixed emotions... frustration, fear, confusion, and anger. Hindi siya nito pinagpaliwanag man lamang. Pero at the same time, nagagalit siya sa kung sinomang gustong sumira sa relasyon nila. At ngayon, natatakot siya dahil pakiramdam niya ay hindi na siya nito papakinggan pa. He must hate her now...

She opened the small box he left on the table and inside was a princess cut diamond engagement ring! He was supposed to propose to her tonight!

Lalo lang siyang naiyak ng makita iyon. Tonight was supposed to be special. But how did it end up like this?

It's all her fault... "It's all my fucking fault..."
