Alma
Sierra and I wait out the quiet hour in our room. We don't discuss anything further about Michelle and Abigail. I'm relieved to know Abigail is in Medical, but I still worry about Michelle. All the worry weighs on me, and I begin to think today is turning out to be the longest day of my life.
When the quiet hour is through with, I make my way out to the hallway. I need to find Spencer and Nick and figure out what they were talking about in the hallway earlier. Aside from wanting to inform them about Sierra's discovery regarding Abigail, I still can't forget what I overheard them talking about.
I see Nick passing by my room when I head out to the hall.
"Nick. Wait up." I hurry my steps to catch up to him.
"What's up?"
"Abigail's in Medical." I inform him as we walk to the day room, Sierra following close behind.
"Good. I mean, it's not good, but at least she isn't in Secondary." He says.
"I know. But we still don't know where Michelle is."
"Yeah."
"Where's Spencer?" I ask looking behind us down the hallway.
"He's at a meeting with Chris."
"Oh. Really?" I'm surprised.
Nick shrugs and we enter the day room. Sierra and I make our way over to our table and sit down. Nick takes a seat at a table next to ours. He showed no interest in sitting with us. He glares at Sierra. It makes me wonder what his issue is with her. If I were sitting here alone, I have no doubt in my mind that he'd have sat with me.
I was hoping he would sit with us, so I could pick his brain about what I overheard earlier. I guess it will have to wait. Maybe I'll bring it up when Spencer gets back. Spencer has very little ability when it comes to lying. I know when he's hiding something. I've never been the best at dragging the truth out of Spencer, but I know for certain it would be next to impossible to tell if Nick's lying whenever I ask about the conversation. If Nick lies, I won't be able to read him like I can read Spencer.
Sierra pulls her cards out of her pocket and starts shuffling them. She looks to me, "Want to play?"
"Not really. Thanks, though." I tell her.
"What about you?" She looks over to Nick's table.
He shakes his head.
"Sure?" she persists.
"I've never been more sure of anything in my whole life." He grimaces.
"Sierra?" I ask her, breaking her glare from Nick and causing her to look at me again.
"Yeah?"
"What's the problem between you two?" I ask curiously.
"What do you mean?"
"Oh, come on." I say.
"What?"
"You two can't seem to stand one another, and it makes me increasingly curious as to why that is." I look over to Nick who is staring intently at Sierra. He seems to be just as curious as I am about it.
"It's nothing." Sierra says shooting glances between Nick and me.
Nick scoffs in response to what she just said.
"Well? What's the problem?" I ask Nick.
He raises his eye brows in question towards Sierra. "Do you wanna explain, Sierra?" he snickers.
