Chan watched as the man fled and moments later Harper tumbling to her knees, screaming out in pain. The curse magic working its way inside her had affected her more than she had expected it to - and the limited magic she had left wasn't helping the situation.
"Harper!" He cried out, rushing to her side.
"I'm fine-" She coughed, wincing again. Both hands on the floor to steady herself. She was desperately trying to activate her healing spell, but the tiny bit of magic that was left in her wasn't enough to undo the damage.
"You're clearly not." He muttered softly. "Fuck it-" He swiftly scooped her up before she could protest and he flinched at how physically cold she felt - and he knew for a fire mage, that feeling cold to the touch wasn't a good sign.
Chan had simply wished to try and get her to see the wrong in her actions, not to nearly die and have to fight alongside her. But then again, he didn't really fight - or do much then actually except tell her that he had her back.
"What're you doing?" She mumbled, getting weaker and weaker.
"You need healing. I shouldn't be healing you, for the sake of my country - but you saved me and went against your own country." He spoke gently, before realising she had gone limp in his arms and he walked faster - heading to a nearby hotel.
Within minutes he had taken her upstairs to the room he had rented for the night, laid her down, and he closed the curtains and blinds and locked the door. "Healer magic." He whispered, doing his hand movements to produce the spell and he watched the roots and vines and flours spill from the ground below him and travel up to the bed and where she lay before encasing her slowly and surely.
The spell he had chosen, often took large amounts of magic, so therefore he rarely used it. But he couldn't let her die now, not when she sacrificed herself for him.
After an hour of healing her like this, he had started sporting a sheen of sweat across his face. His magic retracted itself from her unconscious body, and he sighed, slumping down in a chair facing her. "You're healed, of your physical body is anyway. But the almost empty feeling of magic from her was what was keeping her under, after all, once someone's magic has depleted below the lowest level they can go, they will sleep until it's full again - and he could guess her maximum was much higher than she had showed not long before which meant that she would be out for quite a while.
'Not coming back to the dorms tonight - something popped up' he texted Hyunjin and threw his phone to the side. Whilst he was convinced she wouldn't be waking up for at least the next couple of hours - he would shut his eyes and replenish his magic too.
