Chapter Seventeen

Seokjin watched knowingly as the weeks went by and Jungkook helped Harper train and fine tune her magic again. The rest of the boys concerned on why he was training up the woman who tried to kidnap him.

"Why?" Hoseok huffed despite having a slight inclination on why Jungkook was doing it.

"He does realise she tried to kidnap him, right?" Yoongi looked at the other boys sat around him.

"Because they're destined." Seokjin commented. "It's a very old magic belief, that when you're ready for it your other half walks into your life and you two are destined together. As the magic got weaker in bloodlines it happened less and less."

"He's right." Namjoon sighed softly, rubbing his temple. "Meaning she's going to be one of us-"

"Guys!" Harper ran in, cheeks flushed and sweat beading at her brow as she panted. "There's American spies and Jungkook's trying to fend them off-"

Harper hadn't seen the boys move so fast since she fought them and they sprinted outside just to get a glimpse of the hooded figures in black dragging an unconscious Jungkook into a van and speeding off.

The boys magic all increased rapidly in power, and Harper had no trouble sensing it, worry filling her.

Seokjin side eyed the female, first thinking she had someone contacted the Americans and told them, but then seeing the fear and worry and the sparks flying from her fingers he decided she wasn't behind it.

Namjoon went to go to his car as well and that's when Harper spoke up.

"You don't chase American mages." She spoke softly. "I can guarantee one of them had cloaking magic and the moment they turned that corner they were invisible to the naked eye."

"What do you mean we don't chase them?!" Jimin yelled the air crackling. "They've got Jungkook!"

"They know your power." Harper croaked. "They know I'm weaker. They will have others waiting for them wherever they've taken him. If we went now, without any back up, we'd be wiped out and only putting Jungkook in more danger."

"She's right." Seokjin stood beside the girl, resting a comforting hand on her back. "I hate to say this to you guys, but Harper is the only way we can truly get Jungkook back. I need to get Stray Kids over here anyway, but I think if we combine our forces with them and a few other mage groups. We'll do it and get him back."

The boys all looked at Seokjin like he was crazy for siding with the female.

"I know where he is-"

"So you're behind it?!" Taehyung grew angry and the ground shook.

"She's not." Namjoon sighed once again. "It's what Jin told us about before. She can sense him now, and always will."

Harper looked slightly confused at Namjoon and Jin. The rest of the boys looked at their leader and their eldest and the American they didn't know if they could trust before all collectively sighing.

"So what do we do now then?"
