Jungkook felt like he was suspended in water, he felt weightless. Sounds were muffled and he couldn't see nothing but blackness. But he knew that something out there was trying to drag him back to feeling something.
His heart felt it first, the fear of his own that he felt multiplied rapidly. It wasn't just his fear anymore.
Harper
His mind flickered to her and he felt himself go under the water briefly. He felt weighted. But the feeling left as soon as it came. Feeling weightless was so much nicer than feeling anything at all.
She depended on you. You need to be there for her.
The voice, the only thing he could hear, echoed in the chasm he was in. He went under again, and he struggled to come back up, briefly surfacing until he voice spoke again, and again and again.
All about Harper.
He gasped as he shot awake. His body shooting upright causing the man in the corner of the room to gasp in alarm.
Did Jungkook feel weighted down again now? Most definitely. He reached out and flexed his fingers. Sensation flooding the extremities once more.
He had never felt so relieved in his life.
Then his mind went from how he felt to the fear he still get in his heart. He looked about, vision still hazy and he saw Harper backed against the door with the woman approaching her.
Jungkook went to move but froze when Harper closed her eyes.
"I will not let you dictate my life." Harper spoke weakly. "I will not be afraid of you anymore." She stepped forwards, coming to meet the woman in the centre of the room. The fear in Jungkook's heart lessened slightly. "I will not let anyone else be afraid of you ever again you witch!" She met her in the middle. Harper was nose to nose with the woman in front of her, her flames roaring in a wall behind her.
"Harper-" Jungkook choked out. He saw the flames she possessed. He saw the flames in her eyes. But he saw the finger touch her chest too late, the flames sputtered.
"You're nothing but livestock." The woman sneered. "Made for us to make, and then breed you over and over till we get the perfect mage. You're nothing without AMA, you're nothing without your necklace."
"Harper don't listen to her." Jungkook went to get up, but hadn't gotten feeling back in his legs yet and he tumbled to the floor. "You've got me. You've got the boys."
"Shut up boy." The woman turned and pointed a hand at him and the coldness started to fill his body again.
"No." Jungkook snarled. "Why should I shut up when you're lying to her?"
"Jungkook-"
"You're trying time bend her thoughts again. Make her into a minion. Well Harper is stronger than that. She's stronger than you know."
Harper felt hope fill her, and she heard the roar of her flames come back to life. She felt two pairs of hands on her back. "She's strong enough to fight alone. But she's got us too." Taehyung and Jimin were weakly stood touching her, sweat covering their features.
Harper's flames roared higher.
"She's got us too." Yoongi tore off the blindfold, breathing heavily as he fought off the man's paralysis spell.
"And me." Seokjin spoke, eyes still covered but he could hear everything.
"And us." Hoseok and Namjoon spoke in unison.
"She's got us too." The door burst open, Felix, Chan and the stray kids stood there. Behind them stood everyone else in the charred corridor.
"Where as the only person you seem to have is Frankie." Harper gestured to the man in the corner of the room, now looking as scared as everyone else affected by this woman's magic had felt. "But even he's not truly with you. So the only thing you've got is your magic." The woman thrust her hand into Harper's chest again. Harper didn't even flinch. "And even that's useless."
