Chapter Twenty Two

The fight itself wasn't hard. The only magic the woman, one of the few leaders of the AMA, had was to convert people into AMA puppets. So Harper had incapacitated the woman with ease, and the man who controlled paralysis soon followed. However, Harper couldn't help but feel the cold of the woman's magic seep through her bones and it scared her. She didn't want to loose herself to it again.

A hand rested on her back gently. "Harper?" Felix's deep voice filled her head and she tried to bring herself back to the present but it wasn't working. No matter how much she focused on the voice she couldn't bring herself back. Fear filled her again.

"The woman hit her before she went down." Jungkook rushed towards her. "She's being taken over again."

Harper could only watch as people began rushing around her.

"How do we get her back?" Taehyung asked from her right side.

"I have no idea." Jimin panicked.

"I know..." Namjoon whispered. "Before I met all of you, I had someone close to me... Someone who converted from AMA to help us. Quite like how Harper is now on our side." The boys turned to look at their leader, and their eyes widened. They never knew of his past before they met him. He wouldn't ever open up about it and now he finally was.

"Namjoon..." Jungkook whispered.

"I don't mind talking to you guys about it. She needs our help."

"Why are you only now caring?" Jimin asked, after all earlier on he had figured out why they refused to take Harper with them and he assumed Namjoon was the one that had allowed it to happen for the reason. "We know why you didn't let Harper come with us."

"Our main priority was Jungkook. Anything to get him back." Namjoon spoke softly. "We didn't intend for her to be taken. The plan was that Jungkook would be the one to flare up, not Harper so when we got back to the warehouse he could save her."

Harper couldn't do anything but stand there and listen. Jungkook held her hand protectively and despite being unable to bring herself back to the present, she felt it.

"But what if your plan hadn't worked?" Taehyung asked sadly. "And we lost Harper?"

"Then we lost a valuable person." Namjoon spoke quietly and Jungkook's grip grew tighter.

Harper felt their magic mix in the small space between their palms and felt how warm it was slowly travelling up her arm and into her body. Jungkook felt her slightly colder magic do the same and he was suddenly aware of what was happening. Harper's hand began to grip back slowly as she clawed back into the present. Her heart was pounding and the blood was rushing through her ears so loud she was now unable to even hear the conversation occuring in the room. She felt Jungkook's grip get tighter so she assumed something was said that made him angrier.

"He's already helping her." The blood flow ceased in her ears. Felix speaking again. "I can sense it." He spoke softly, smiling and Harper felt her body feel like a dead-weight once everything came back crashing around her.

Jungkook sensed it to and turned abruptly, catching her has her knees buckled.

The magic between the two still fizzled and crackled with energy. But now on a larger scale since they were both so close together.

"There's my job done." Namjoon laughed softly. "He needed to feel a strong and positive emotion towards her, as his emotions increase so does his magic and physical contact feeds his magic into her."

"You could've done it in a better way than making me feel like you guys hated me." She whispered softly, weakly as she was supported by Jungkook who had no problem holding her up.

"That wasn't our intention." Namjoon bowed his head respectfully. "I'm sorry."

Jungkook grumbled. "You could've done it without putting her life at risk too."

Harper began to slowly stand, Jungkook still supporting her. She felt warm and safe in his arms, something completely polar opposite to what they felt at the hands of the AMA. "Thank you..." Harper whispered again, encasing the male in a hug.

"For what?"

"Saving me again."
