Eloisa is so attentive to Dame while Dame answers her questions regarding her field. I mean, their field. It's not time to be bitter but I can't help it.
"These two, right here, seem to be compatible, don't you think?" the voice of Tita Ely pushed me back to my wall.
"Eleanor, my daughter idolizes Damien so much that she plans to study abroad if Damien will take up his fellowship," natatawang kwento ng Papa ni Eloisa.
"How many years was he abroad again? For his residency?"
He did not finish it, did he?
"He's not yet done. I think he realized he has something more important to do...first..."Tita Fely answered. "Maybe he'll finish it soon but I hope it would be here."
She's lady-like but for me baby pa rin siya.
"Maybe, he can marry first?" tawa ng Mommy ni Eloisa.
"Yeah, he's not getting any younger," I want to face palm with my Mommy's comment. "I remember you Dan wanting to have grandchildren!"
"Oh, I wanted also to have grandchildren..." tawa naman ng Dad ni Eloisa.
"Dad!"
"Of course, whenever you're ready, anak! I'll support you in your career."
"Iha, I admire you for being career-oriented but...you know...being married won't hinder you from achieving whatever you like. My son here believe's the same. He won't hinder you to achieve your goals even if you have children!"
"Mom."
"What? I was just telling her that she could build her career even if she get married at this moment. A long as two people understand each other and support each other," Tita Ely laughed. "You can marry!"
"You're pressuring them, honey," Tito Dan chuckled. "Are you carrying a chair for our son?"
"I couldn't agree more, Tita. You're right. In fact, I think Damien would make a good husband...he would be the best husband anyone could have, next to Dad," Eloisa confidently said and smiled sweetly at Dame.
What Tita Ely says next pierced through me. "I really like you, Iha. Self-assured. I think it is what you need to have someone like Damien. He needs someone who won't get taken over by her insecurities."
"Mom, stop."
I can't look to anyone of them not until Eloisa drag me into the conversation.
"How about you, Jade?"
I looked up and saw Eloisa's sharp eyes.
"I heard you went abroad to study."
I squared my shoulders and smiled at Eloisa. "Yes--"
"What did you take up? Major in modelling?" Eloisa smiled, her tone was fine but her expression is funny.
