…At Niall’s House…

.........................

Melody's POV:

.........................

Well, this is it I guess. I never saw myself in such gatherings; I mean I am more to be seen in an expensive club or at least a luxury villa. But I made my decision for tonight, I will try to adapt with this environment as much as possible; not only for my sake, but for Harry’s as well. He rings the doorbell, and we wait silently outside.

“No way! Melody you made it!”Niall surprises me with his engulfing hug, and I laugh awkwardly at his action. Harry, on the other side, groans and pulls Niall away from me. “He’s drunk, if that answers your question.” How did he know that I was wondering about this? I shrug, to show him I’m not that interested, and we enter Niall’s house.

I glance at the room, and I feel like choking to be honest. Multiple smoke clouds are swirling, and the smell of cigarettes make my head spin. Its almost stuffy for me to breathe, but I try my best to smile. I look around and notice Liam and Louis, along with two other girls. Each girl is clinging around Louis and Liam, and they look… wasted already? As soon as the two boys notice my existence, they smile and wave at me, and the girls scan my figure.

“Who’s the bird?” One girl asks, and I lower my face to stare at my ankle boots. “That’s Harry’s boss.” Niall sits down on the couch, while the two girls exchange looks. “Do you have a name, darling?” The other girl suggests, and I notice a little smile on her face.

“Melody.” Harry answers for me, and I’m shocked when he holds my hand and sits me beside him on the couch. We aren’t sitting that close to each other, but our knees slightly touch every now and then.

“Here you go, mate.” Louis hands Harry a beer bottle, and swings one to me. No thanks, I prefer wine.” They all stifle in laughter, and Harry shakes his head. “Just take the bottle.”Harry demands in a suggestive tone, and I apply his request. I don’t really like beer; well I never really considered it suitable for my taste at least.

“I’m Eleanor.” One of the girls chime, and I smile politely at her. I don’t really know what must I say, because I’m not that talkative to people I don’t know. “She’s stiff isn’t she?” The other girl laughs, but Liam nudges her shoulder to quiet down. “Niall, could you please show me the way to the restroom?” He nods, and I follow his footsteps. I hear everyone whispering in a fade tone, but I don’t seem to be bothered.

“Here you go.” The blue-eyed boy suggests, and I thank him with a smile. I stare at myself, and force my nerves to calm down. This is all new to me, but I guess I must lighten up more. Everyone is trying to talk to me, but I’m just being awkward.

I suppose that I should leave my classy attitude in this toilet, and try to act more casual. Yeah, that’s what I’ll do. As I walk outside, I notice a male figure; a new one to be precise. He looks very appealing, in a rebellious kind of way.

“(He looks at me and asks Niall) Who’s the blonde?” Niall stares at him to be quiet, but he doesn’t budge. He smiles at me and walks closer. “I’m Zayn, what about you babe?” He’s height leans towards the wall, as his hand reaches for a handshake.

Be polite and friendly, Melody; I remind myself before talking. “Melody, its nice to meet you Zayn.” He laughs and stares at my exposed legs. “What’s going on here?” I relax to the voice coming behind me, and I take my hand out of Zayn’s.
